ClearBank is a London clearing bank founded in 2015, the first new entrant to the British clearing market in more than two centuries. It provides accounts, payment scheme access and safeguarding to fintechs, building societies and other regulated firms rather than to consumers. Its cloud native infrastructure gives partners direct access to Faster Payments and other national schemes.

We built ClearBank on the belief that banking infrastructure would no longer slow down progress. Instead, it would be a catalyst that unlocks the potential to innovate. It would adapt to different needs so a new era in financial services could begin. We’re here to challenge the status quo in banking, are you?

We all know that transforming banking forever is not an easy mission, but we’re more than ready to rise to that challenge. We all do it every day; navigating new, unexpected and sometimes even daunting challenges. But we believe in ourselves and trust we can do it. Want to innovate? Go for it. Push for a better way? You Can. If you think you have it in you, this is Where You Can.

Team / Reporting Line

Information Security - Identity & Access Management

Reporting to: Head of IAM

About Us

We built ClearBank on the belief that banking infrastructure should accelerate innovation, not hold it back. We’re transforming the financial landscape with modern, cloud-native banking infrastructure-and we’re doing it together.

At ClearBank, you’ll be empowered to challenge the status quo, push boundaries, and help shape the future of banking. If you’re curious, collaborative, and driven to make a positive impact-this is where you can.

Role Purpose

The IAM Analyst is responsible for delivering and improving Identity & Access Management controls across ClearBank.

This role combines operational IAM responsibilities with ownership of processes such as access reviews, identity lifecycle management, and privileged access controls. The IAM Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure access is appropriately governed, secure, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage joiner, mover, leaver (JML) processes to ensure accurate and timely provisioning and deprovisioning of access

  • Own and deliver periodic access reviews and certification campaigns across key systems

  • Administer identity platforms (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID) including role-based access control and group management

  • Support and maintain privileged access management processes and controls

  • Act as a point of contact for IAM-related queries and provide guidance to stakeholders

  • Investigate and resolve access-related incidents and issues

  • Ensure IAM activities are documented and audit-ready, supporting internal and external audits

  • Work with application owners to define and maintain appropriate access models

  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate IAM processes and workflows

  • Contribute to IAM projects, including tooling enhancements and onboarding of new applications

What success looks like in the role:

  • IAM processes are delivered consistently, efficiently, and in line with policy and SLAs

  • Access reviews are completed with high engagement and strong audit evidence

  • Access risks are proactively identified and mitigated

  • Stakeholders trust IAM as a knowledgeable and reliable function

  • Continuous improvements and automation opportunities are regularly delivered

Skills & Experience (must have)

  • Solid understanding of Identity & Access Management principles (RBAC, least privilege, segregation of duties)

  • Experience managing user access and identity lifecycle processes in an enterprise environment

  • Experience administering identity platforms (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD or equivalent)

  • Strong understanding of access reviews, governance, and compliance requirements

  • Ability to analyze access requirements and implement appropriate controls

  • Experience working with ticketing systems and structured operational processes

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve issues

  • Experience with software development, programming, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies, with Terraform preferred

  • Scripting or automation experience (e.g. PowerShell, Logic Apps, Power Automate)

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with IAM tooling (e.g. SailPoint, Saviynt, Okta, CyberArk)

  • Knowledge of privileged access management (PAM) solutions and controls

  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments

  • Exposure to audit processes and regulatory frameworks (e.g. ISO, SOX, FCA expectations)

Internal Role Level: L2
