We deliver decision-ready risk analytics that bring clarity and insight to multi-asset portfolios, highlighting exposures, sensitivities, scenarios, and performance drivers.\nAs a Senior Software Developer on the Energy & Commodities team, you will design, build, deploy, and maintain the systems that capture and manage commodity trades and their risk on our platform. You will work closely with the Quantitative Developers who build our pricing libraries, with Product Managers, and directly with clients to turn complex trading and risk workflows into reliable, well-designed software. You will lead design within your area of the platform and help raise the engineering standard of the team.\nWhat You'll Do\n· Design, build, deploy, and maintain features for trade capture, trade lifecycle, position management, and risk workflows for global commodities (OTC and exchange-traded, financial and physical).\n· Extend the platform frameworks that consume pricing libraries: deal models, market data and curve management, risk batch execution (e.g. Greeks, VaR, scenario analysis), cashflow generation, and reporting.\n· Translate business, functional, and client requirements into well-designed features, in partnership with Product Managers and Quantitative Developers.\n· Lead design and feature discussions within the team, apply the team's architectural standards and design patterns, and participate in design and code reviews.\n· Contribute to codebases in other languages like Java, TypeScript, and Rust as projects require.\n· Build and maintain containerized services and deployment pipelines and improve the observability and performance of workloads.\n· Write clean, well-tested code, and maintain multiple levels of automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end).\n· Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents promptly and effectively.\n· Mentor new and less experienced engineers.\n· Produce high-quality documentation that supports and expands engineering solutions, for both technical and non-technical audiences.\n· Apply and help refine best practices for AI use in development, operations, and the products themselves.\nWhat We're Looking For\n· 7+ years of professional software development experience, including strong production work in Python.\n· Experience in energy and commodities technology, such as ETRM/CTRM products, trading and risk systems at an energy trading firm, utility, or bank commodity desk, or front-office development that supports commodity trading.\n· Working knowledge of market conventions, deal structures, and trade lifecycle events for derivatives.\n· Demonstrated ability to work in more than one language and DBMS.\n· Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.\n· Experience building and deploying software on a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\n· Strong design skills, and the ability to lead feature-level design within a team.\n· Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases and to debug production systems.\n· Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nWhat Will Make You Stand Out\n· Development experience on a graph-based pricing and risk platform (Beacon, Quartz, Athena, or SecDB).\n· Production experience in multiple languages and DBMSes.\n· Experience building real-time trading and risk systems.\n· Financial engineering knowledge and experience.\n· Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems.\nWhat we Offer:\n· Business casual atmosphere in a flexible working environment\n· Team focused culture that promotes innovation and ownership\n· Access cutting edge investment reporting technology and expertise\n· Defined and undefined career pathways allowing you to grow your own way\n· Competitive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits\n· Maternity and paternity leave\n· Personal Time Off and Volunteer Time Off to give back to the community\n· 401(k) retirement plan with company match\n· Work from anywhere 3 weeks out of the year\n· Work from home Fridays\nSalary Range\n$156,400.00 - $210,841.00This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
