The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable wind turbine operation.\nIf you don’t meet 100% of the below qualifications but see yourself contributing, please submit your resume.\nWind Technician levels are defined below, and the ranges will be determined based on the qualifications met.\nPay Ranges by Job Level:\nWind Technician Trainee ( $41,600 - $49,920)\nWind Technician I ($45,000 - $66,000)\nWind Technician II ($52,000 - $74,000)\nWind Technician III ($63,000 - $90,000)\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nTrainee \nFollow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment under direct supervision.\nShadow and assist experienced technicians in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance.\nDocument all work performed, parts used, and time spent using computer-based service reporting procedures.\nMaintain hand tools in good working order and well organized.\nOperate and maintain a service vehicle.\nWork a flexible on-call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays.\nDemonstrate a strong willingness to learn and accept guidance from supervising technicians and site leadership.\nMust pass an advancement exam and oral board upon training program completion within six (6) months from hire.\nOther duties as assigned within the Trainee scope. \nLevel I (Additions) \nAssist in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance.\nAssist in troubleshooting and repair of SCADA communication systems.\nWillingness to progress as a technician and take guidance from superiors.\nHelp in all areas of site operations as directed by Site Lead and Site Manager with minimal supervision.\nMust pass an advancement exam and oral board upon training program completion within six (6) months from hire.\nOther duties as assigned within the Level I scope \nLevel II & III (Additions) \nTroubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines.\nAssist in the training and development of lower-level operation and maintenance personnel.\nPerform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair, and replacement to correct malfunctions.\nRead and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.\nUse electrical test equipment to assist in troubleshooting and testing.\nLead maintenance and troubleshooting crews as necessary.\nSafely perform LOTO and mentor lower-level technicians in LOTO.\nPerform balance of plant and switchyard work as required.\nMust pass an advancement exam and oral board upon training program completion within six (6) months from hire.\nOther duties as assigned within the Level II or III scope, respectively. \nWhat You'll Bring\nTrainee \nA high school diploma or GED required, or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.\nAble to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet. Job will require standing outside the nacelle and nosecone at the top of the turbine. Able to work safely in a confined space.\nMust possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.\nDemonstrable mechanical aptitude; no prior electrical experience required.\nAble to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.\nAble to travel as required.\nKnowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools.\nAble to communicate verbally and in writing.\nAble to create, edit, or modify Microsoft Word and Excel documents. \nLevel I (Additions) \nPossess demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge gained through direct work experience. Qualifying backgrounds include: electrical work in a construction trade, employment in a power generation or utility environment, or experience as a licensed or apprentice electrician. Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color-coded wires.\nAbility to read schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred.\nAble to communicate verbally and in writing and able to work without direct supervision during performance of work.\nAble to meet the requirements of Clearway Energy Group’s Qualified Electrical Worker program. \nLevel II (Additions) \nAn Associate’s degree (electrical or technical) and six months of turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and one year of wind turbine experience.\nAble to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color-coded wires.\nHave an in-depth understanding of the different components of the wind turbine, including the electrical pitch system, computerized control system, and the power conversion unit, as well as knowledge and understanding of OEM-approved mechanical maintenance methods and practices.\nPossess the skills to perform mechanical and electrical equipment repairs. \nLevel III (Additions) \nAn Associate’s degree (electrical or technical) and two years of turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and three years of wind turbine experience.\nWhat Would Be Nice\nPrevious experience in SAP is preferred.\nNo visa sponsorship or any kind of sponsorship for employment authorization is available for this role, now or in the future.\nThe pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law.
