You will run the queue yourself first, then systematically engineer it away, turning manual work into automated systems that reduce reliance on headcount. It is a high-agency, high-ownership position for someone who thinks in systems and measures success by the queue running without them.\nWhat You'll Do\nTake ownership of a core operational domain, running cases, reviews, and escalations hands-on from day one.\n\nBecome the deepest expert on your domain's workflows, logging every point where processes break or create friction.\n\nAutomate your own work by shipping rules and sub-flows to handle what you have been doing manually.\n\nDrive and validate measurable improvements on every workflow you rebuild.\n\nHandle edge cases and knife-edge scenarios that automation does not yet cover.\n\nTranslate operational findings and failure modes into clear specs and requirements for Engineering and Product teams.\n\nHelp ship the systems and agents that ultimately replace the manual work you started with.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n2 to 3 internships in high-growth startups, venture capital, or consulting, or demonstrated initiative through side projects, student organizations, research, or entrepreneurial work.\n\nHands-on experience automating real workflows using AI tools, built tools you actively use rather than experimental prototypes.\n\nExperience running manual operational workflows end-to-end and documenting failure modes and process breakdowns.\n\nExperience building process automation rules, sub-flows, and workflow logic to replace manual effort.\n\nComfortable operating in fast-moving environments with minimal process documentation.\n\nAbility to translate operational insights into technical specifications for engineering teams.\n\nBackground in banking, payments, or fintech operations is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with no-code or low-code automation platforms such as Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar tools is a plus.\n\nBased in New York City or willing to relocate.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary range: $100,000 to $125,000 USD annually.
