As a founding engineer, you will help develop the infrastructure and systems that turn diverse data sources into reliable, continuously updated industry models.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild and ship features across frontend applications, backend services, and real-time systems.\n\nCreate data pipelines and internal tools that help analysts add information sources and maintain industry coverage.\n\nImprove agent-based parsing and extraction systems for greater reliability and capability.\n\nOwn work end to end, including data inspection, quality assurance, instrumentation, production releases, and ongoing fixes.\n\nDevelop a company ontology and an earnings research product.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nAt least 2 years of experience building, shipping, and operating production systems, with approximately 7 years or fewer of professional experience.\n\nHands-on experience building and deploying production agentic AI systems or LLM-based applications, with good judgment about when to use AI and when to use deterministic software.\n\nFull-stack capability, including Python backend development with FastAPI or an equivalent framework, TypeScript, React, data pipelines, and SQL.\n\nExperience with relational database design and optimization, preferably PostgreSQL, plus AWS infrastructure and deployment.\n\nExperience with production observability, distributed systems debugging, and real-time data or streaming updates.\n\nStrong ownership and depth in at least one of backend engineering, data infrastructure, applied AI, or product engineering.\n\nCapital markets, equity research, investment banking, or broader financial services experience is a plus. Familiarity with modern data tools, edge computing, or AI/ML tooling is also useful.\n\nU.S. citizenship is required, along with a full-time commitment and ability to work on-site in New York City.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary is $156,000 to $182,000 annually.
