You will own core infrastructure for coordinating experiments, devices, and distributed workflows, helping establish a new category of software for physical systems.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild orchestration systems that schedule and coordinate experiments across distributed labs.\n\nDevelop robust infrastructure connecting AI agents with experiments and laboratory instruments.\n\nDesign data systems that capture state, actions, measurements, failures, and provenance.\n\nArchitect distributed systems that coordinate software, devices, and experiments reliably.\n\nCreate developer tools and APIs for new workflows and integrations.\n\nDebug and optimize systems across software, hardware, and physical environments.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nAt least 3 years of professional experience building production-grade software systems end to end.\n\nStrong proficiency in Python or Rust, with a track record of building production backend or distributed systems.\n\nExperience designing distributed systems involving APIs, networking, and asynchronous communication.\n\nEarly-stage startup engineering experience and the ability to take ownership in an ambiguous environment.\n\nSystems-level debugging skills, ideally across hardware, firmware, and software.\n\nExperience with robotics, physical AI, agent systems, lab automation, ML infrastructure, data infrastructure, orchestration, or developer tooling is beneficial.\n\nNo biology experience is required.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary range: $100,000 to $250,000 USD annually.
