You will own data-heavy distributed systems that contextualize IoT monitoring data, quantify shipment risk in real time, and power predictive workflows at scale. The work is high-leverage and directly impacts whether temperature-sensitive shipments arrive safely and on time.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and build backend services that drive a logistics orchestration and decision-intelligence platform.\n\nOwn end-to-end partner data flows, from multi-vendor IoT data ingestion and normalization through warehousing, observability, and on-call support.\n\nBuild and maintain event-driven architectures using messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.\n\nDevelop predictive systems for on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance and automate exception-handling workflows.\n\nDesign and integrate external partner APIs, webhooks, queues, carrier feeds, sensor streams, and vendor connections.\n\nDeploy and operate containerized services on cloud infrastructure, maintaining reliability standards appropriate for mission-critical logistics use cases.\n\nCollaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teammates at a growth-stage startup where your work ships fast and has real visibility.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n5 or more years of backend engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.\n\nHands-on proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node.js; strong Java experience is a plus.\n\nDemonstrated experience owning external partner-facing operational data integrations end to end, rather than purely internal, DevOps, ETL-only, or general full-stack work.\n\nExperience with IoT data ingestion, processing, and contextualization.\n\nStrong SQL skills and depth in relational data modeling; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.\n\nExperience with API design and development using REST and/or gRPC.\n\nHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.\n\nExperience deploying and operating services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.\n\nSolid software engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.\n\nAbility to operate independently as a senior IC on a lean team.\n\nDomain knowledge in logistics, cold chain, supply chain, or IoT is a strong plus.\n\nPrior experience at a growth-stage or Series A company is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with data security, privacy, or regulatory considerations relevant to pharma or cold-chain domains is a plus.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary: $130,000 to $160,000 USD annually, plus equity and a cash bonus.
