You will own full-stack components of an AI system that handles guest requests, from understanding intent and retrieving relevant information to coordinating tools and generating responses.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and build systems that classify guest requests, assemble context, select tools, and decide when to respond or escalate.\n\nDevelop retrieval pipelines that ground responses in accurate and current customer information.\n\nBuild reliable orchestration for multi-step workflows, including handling third-party API failures during conversations.\n\nCreate evaluation frameworks to assess response quality and catch regressions before release.\n\nImplement observability and tracing that help support teams understand system behavior.\n\nBuild controls that let non-technical teams adjust agent behavior without writing code.\n\nExtend agent capabilities to voice conversations with real-time transcription and tool use.\n\nImprove performance and cost through model routing, caching, and prompt refinement.\n\nContribute to infrastructure, data pipelines, integrations, and APIs.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nAt least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including 3 or more years building production systems used by real people.\n\nExperience designing and debugging production AI or ML systems, including retrieval pipelines, prompt engineering, or model orchestration.\n\nProficiency across multiple areas of the stack, such as backend, frontend, infrastructure, or data pipelines.\n\nExperience building and evaluating retrieval systems, multi-step workflows, and production observability or evaluation tools.\n\nProficiency in a backend language such as Python, Go, Rust, Java, or a similar language, plus experience integrating third-party APIs.\n\nStrong judgment in selecting AI models and measuring system quality, reliability, latency, and cost.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary: $130,000 to $220,000 annually, plus 0.20% to 1.20% equity, health insurance, and a 401(k) match.
