You will build the backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that coordinate AI-powered agents and transactions across manufacturing workflows, helping ensure physical goods move reliably through complex operations.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and scale backend services using Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions for high-throughput order processing.\n\nBuild and productionize LLM-based agents, AI/ML infrastructure, and RAG patterns for quote analysis and supplier recommendations.\n\nDesign PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries for materials, quotes, orders, and supplier relationships.\n\nBuild event-driven pipelines for order state management, notifications, and cross-system synchronization.\n\nImplement caching, rate limiting, and reliability strategies for external API calls.\n\nEstablish monitoring, alerting, and observability practices, and own backend incident response.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nAt least 5 years of production experience building backend services, data pipelines, or platform infrastructure.\n\nProfessional TypeScript experience, with recent hands-on work using Next.js and direct web development experience.\n\nExperience designing transactional systems with ACID guarantees, exactly-once processing, and idempotent APIs.\n\nHands-on AI development or AI DevOps experience, including NLP or ML pipelines for extracting information from unstructured documents, such as OCR workflows.\n\nExperience building or productionizing LLM-based agents, working with agentic frameworks, or implementing RAG patterns.\n\nStrong PostgreSQL and relational database skills, plus experience with event-driven systems, queues, or reliable data pipelines.\n\nExperience integrating ERP systems and third-party APIs, including legacy or poorly documented interfaces.\n\nExperience with monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident response for backend systems.\n\nProfessional experience in manufacturing supply chain, procurement, or logistics, ideally in a startup or small company.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary: $160,000 to $250,000 annually.
