The Mobile Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various mobile equipment across the site on a rotating shift. This role will load HBI product to rail and trucks as required and remove material from the remet bunker to various locations on site, utilizing front end loaders. The operator will also utilize and maintain the cleanliness of other site equipment such as the water truck, street sweeper, skid steer and like as directed. This role interacts with the control room, maintenance, engineering, and contractors related to the effective operations of the site.\nSummary of Responsibilities:\nEnsure adherence to safety standards and maintain equipment and surrounding areas in good condition to sustain uninterrupted operation.\n\nOperate various pieces of mobile equipment including but not limited to - front end loaders, skid steer, forklifts, water truck, street sweeper.\n\nConduct routine inspections including but not limited to cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks, to identify needed maintenance or repairs.\n\nRecognize upset conditions, and take the appropriate corrective action.\n\nIdentify operating irregularities, troubleshoot, and correct equipment performance or sufficiently relay details to craft, control room, and supervisory personnel.\n\nPerform safe isolation of operating equipment from energy sources such that maintenance activities can take place.\n\nAssist Operators and Mechanical, Electrical maintenance personnel where required.\n\nAccurately follow procedures and provide timely feedback of conditions to supervisor.\n\nInspect and fuel vehicle, monitor gauges and other indicators to ensure safe operation.\n\nProvide written and/or verbal turnover information to oncoming crew members.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED.\n\n2-year degree from an accredited vocational/technical school preferred.\n\n2+ years related experience as an equipment operator in an industrial environment.\n\nSkid steer, front end loader, forklift operational knowledge preferred.\n\nTeam player with the ability to work collaboratively.\n\nPositive, high energy, and self-motivated.\n\nAbility to multitask, perform under stressful conditions, and respond and adapt in changing conditions.\n\nHearing, seeing (acuity, near, far, and depth), talking, sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs), climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, and wearing personal protective equipment.\n\nAbility to work at heights.\n\nRoutinely exposed to plant environment including noise, dust, dirt, and vibrations, extreme climate changes / changes in weather.\n\nAvailability as needed to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis, and the ability to work at the assigned job site.\n\nWilling to work shift work and assist in other areas of department or site as needed.\n\nApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.\n\nCleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
