Cleveland Works produces hot-rolled, cold-reduced, galvanized, and galvannealed sheet steel products for the automotive, appliance, construction, and other markets. This position will collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, laboratories, and other technical teams to resolve quality concerns, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure products meet customer specifications and internal requirements.\nThe ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who can analyze complex manufacturing conditions and turn technical information into practical improvements. A background in metallurgical engineering, materials science, or steel manufacturing is strongly preferred.\nSummary of Responsibilities:\nSupport a safe and environmentally responsible workplace by complying with standards, identifying risks, and participating in improvement initiatives.\nInvestigate product and process quality concerns, reduce defects and nonconforming material, and implement corrective actions.\nAnalyze manufacturing, inspection, and testing data to verify product conformance to customer requirements and to evaluate process capability.\nProvide technical support to operations, inspectors, laboratories, and internal or external customers.\nLead trials and improvement projects focused on product development, process optimization, quality, yield, productivity, and cost.\nMaintain quality procedures, technical documentation, and process controls.\nOther duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or related field.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn manufacturing and quality systems.\nApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s or advanced degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering.\nThree or more years of experience in quality, engineering, metallurgy, or manufacturing.\nExperience in steelmaking, rolling, coating, finishing, inspection, testing, or heavy manufacturing.\nKnowledge of steel products, metallurgical principles, steel defect origins, material testing, process control, and applicable ASTM standards.\nExperience with quality investigations, corrective actions, statistical analysis, or process-monitoring systems.\nExperience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.\nRelocation assistance may be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.\nThe salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,000.
