As you grow in this role, you will have opportunities to lead projects, expand your responsibilities, and prepare for future opportunities.\nSummary of Responsibilities:\nDevelop and enhance software across various programming languages and hardware platforms\nMaintain, troubleshoot, and improve automation hardware and software to support production, new equipment, and process changes\nDevelop and support process models involving chemical, metallurgical, and mechanical mill processes\nAdminister operating systems and relational databases on workstations and servers\nSupport new process control system installations and modernization projects\nWork with advanced measurement systems, including vision, thermal imaging, RFID/barcode, X-ray, nuclear gauges, and other specialized systems\nSupport networking technologies, high-speed data transmission, and specialty interfaces\nPartner with production teams to troubleshoot issues, manage technical projects, and identify system and process improvements\nCollaborate with vendors, Research and Development, and internal teams on technical initiatives and new technologies\nProvide regular project and priority updates\nParticipate in occasional domestic and international travel to evaluate and transfer new technologies\nOther duties as needed to support the business\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited school\nFive (5)+ years of experience in software development, programming, process control, automation, system maintenance, or a related technical field\nAdvanced skills in one or more technologies such as C, C#, Fortran, VB.NET, Java/JavaScript, C++, Python, Microsoft SQL, or Windows scripting\nAbility to create, modify, and troubleshoot complex programming logic\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a self-directed team environment\nAbility to work a typical Monday - Friday schedule with rotational weekend and on-call support as needed for our 24/7 operations\nApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis\nPreferred Qualifications:\nEight (8)+ years of relevant experience\nExperience working in a large industrial or manufacturing facility\nRelocation assistance may be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.\nCleveland-Cliffs is a leading North America-based steel producer with focus on value-added sheet products, particularly for the automotive industry.
