This leadership position oversees daily operations throughout the East Region, including staff development, resource planning, equipment lifecycle management, and project execution. Responsibilities include maintaining medical equipment dashboards to monitor performance, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and collaborating with internal teams to support compliance with Joint Commission standards. Through strategic leadership and operational excellence, this role helps advance Cleveland Clinic’s mission of delivering world-class patient care through innovation and reliable medical technology.\n\nA caregiver in this position works 8:00am-4:30pm.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nPerform staff performance evaluations and training activities and assists with capacity planning for staff and contract labor. \nEnsure that equipment is maintained, secured, renovated, and deployed according to departmental/organizational policies, procedures, plans and initiatives. \nAssist with the development of and compliance with the departmental budgets, including capital, operating and construction budgets. \nMaintain knowledge of applicable statutory, regulatory and administrative requirements and ensure departmental compliance. \nLead projects and initiatives within the work group. \nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field \n5 years of clinical engineering /medical device experience inclusive of 2 years of experience in a clinical engineering work leader and/or leadership role \nOR Associates degree and 7 years related experience including 2 years leadership experience \nOR Equivalent specialized or military training and 10 years related experience including 2 years leadership experience. \nMust include extensive experience in assigned areas of specialization and leadership experience. \nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nCertified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) \nAdditional specialization (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, logistics) preferred depending on assigned area \nPhysical Requirements:\nTypical physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.\nAbility to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.\nSufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts.\nVisual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.\nPersonal Protective Equipment:\nFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.\nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
