As the Facilities Director, you will supervisefacilitiescaregivers and provide leadership, orientation, training,coachingand mentoring to teamsfrom Indian River to Broward County for the Florida Market.You will be responsible for 80buildingsin total, including 5 Hospitals, and 75 Ambulatory sites. Your team will include four direct reports and 70 indirect reports.In this role, you will oversee installation, inspections, repairs, trouble shooting and the daily maintenance of buildings, infrastructures, facility equipment and groundsacross these multiple facilities and skilled trades.

Through communication with various departments and contractors, you willcoordinatefacilitieswork, which will support system-wide initiatives and provide tradeexpertise. Your goal will be to ensure a safe,functionaland comfortable environment for patients,familiesand staff by leading the team to properlymaintainequipment and building systems,reducing delays in

care, preventingsafetyrisksand supportinga positive patientexperience.

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 7:30AM - 4:30PM, with availability to support the team, as needed,onnights and weekends.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Maintain knowledge of applicable statutory,regulatoryand administrative requirementsrelativeto departmental operations andensuredepartmental compliance.

  • Ensure safe and continuous operations across assigned sub-markets/markets, aligning Preventive Maintenance, operations and testing with State law and applicable codes.

  • Develop Preventative Maintenance needed formaintainingbuilding systems and trade standards/specifications.

  • Establish systems and processes to attract, develop,engageandretaintalented caregivers.

  • Create a work environment where people can realize their full potential to meet current and future clinical and business challenges.

  • Provide ongoing performance feedback to assigned caregivers through coaching and mentoring.

  • Be accountable for staffing and capacity planning for the assigned shop/trade.

  • Focus and guide assigned caregivers in accomplishing workobjectives.

  • Provide guidance to facilities leaders at local sites to ensure consistent application of policies,proceduresand performance standards across the market.

  • Perform quality assurance reviews of work completed by assigned caregivers.

  • Coordinate work plans and priorities across multiple facilities to ensure consistency,efficiencyand alignment with enterprise standards

  • Be accountable for the development,monitoringand compliance with the departmental budget to include capital andoperating/construction budgets.

  • Review inventory of equipment and materials and initiatepurchaserequisitions.

  • Participate as a member of the Environment of Care Committee and oversee the integrity of all fire life safety systems.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field

  • OR anadditionalfour years of experience in upper-level Facilities Management may offset degree requirement

  • Completion of apprenticeship trade/vocational school or knowledge obtained through four years of on-the-job training experience in theappropriate areaof responsibility

  • Six years of experience as a fully qualified tradesperson or technician in respective area of responsibility (i.e.electrical, plumbing)

  • Three years ofprevioussupervisory or managerial experience or demonstration of formal education in business management

  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) through the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) through the American Hospital Association, Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or similar certificationrequiredupon hire or within 12 months ofemployment

  • Working knowledge of regulatory codes as applied in health institutions

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or Registered Architect (RA) licensure through the applicable State licensure and Surveyors Board or a HydronicsLicense (HY), Plumbing License (PL), Electrical License (EL), HVAC License (HVAC)or Refrigeration License (RE) through the applicable State licensure center

  • Membership in professional trade organization

  • Experience with MS Office, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and programs associated for tracking with a CMMS system

  • Healthcare and multi-site facilities management experience, ideally within a multi-hospital system spanning a multi-county footprint

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders; requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.

  • Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color coded wiring and piping.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
