The Environmental Services Area Cleaner role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and other departments within Cleveland Clinic. \nA caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm. Rotating weekends and holidays.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nClean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas. \nStock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms, and restrooms. \nFollow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures. \nFollow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements. \nComplete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals. \nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions while working with minimal supervision \nCan learn and follow departmental policies and procedures, including cleaning and patient hospitality techniques and the proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals \nClear, courteous and caring communication skills \nCan work effectively in a fast-paced cleaning environment \nFlexibility to adapt to changing work assignments and priorities \nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nA high school diploma or GED \n\nPhysical Requirements:\nRequires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching.\nRequires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.\nRequires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.\nLight work - Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nPersonal Protective Equipment:\nFollow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required,\nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
