We are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.\nAs an EMS Education Instructor, under the direction of the Program Director and Program Manager, you will instruct and supervise students in the classroom and clinical settings for assigned courses. In this role, you will develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum, conduct clinical site visits, maintain student records, and support other school operations to ensure an effective and successful educational experience.\nThis is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days/evenings/weekends\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nInstruct assigned EMS courses in the classroom and laboratory setting including lecturing, instructing lab sessions, and other classroom duties as assigned.\n\nExecute laboratory sessions based on lab agendas provided by the program, identifying equipment needs and enacting course plan including instruction, supervision of simulated skill practice, and evaluation of student performance when required.\n\nOffer one-on-one tutoring on practical skills and didactic material to EMT and Paramedic Students.\n\nAssist with the maintenance of accurate inventory of all EMS program supplies and equipment.\n\nMake recommendations to Program Director regarding equipment/product purchases.\n\nAssist with written test administration and evaluation.\n\nEvaluate students in clinical/field internship rotations as necessary.\n\nSubmit student evaluations to the Program Coordinator.\n\nEstablish cooperative working relationship with community health and EMS organizations and agencies.\n\nDemonstrate continuing competence and currency in the professional discipline and teaching methodologies through a variety of activities, such as professional work experience, graduate education, continuing education, research, and other forms of professional growth.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n\nFive years of EMS experience as an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic (Two years of the required five years of experience must be as a paramedic)\n\nState of Ohio Paramedic Certification\n\nBasic Life Support Instructor - American Heart Association (BLSI) obtained within 12 months\n\nAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor - American Heart Association (ACLSI) obtained within 12 months.\n\nPediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor - American Heart Association (PALSI) obtained within 12 months.\n\nITLS Instructor (International Trauma Life Support) instructor certification obtained within 12 months\n\nFESI (Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, Level II) course completion obtained within 90 days of hire\n\nKnowledge of computers and ability to become proficient with software used for instructional purposes\n\nAbility to produce documents on a PC\n\nAbility to communicate clearly\n\nExcellent public speaking skills\n\nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nAssociates degree or higher\n\nNational Registered Paramedic certification\n\nThree years of experience as a paramedic\n\nPrevious teaching experience\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nExtensive travel from place to place at the work location and to travel between work locations\n\nWorking in a stationary position for extended periods\n\nOccasional moving or transporting up to 25 pounds.\n\nAbility to manipulate and move patients.\n\nExerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\n\nPersonal Protective Equipment:\nFollows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.\n\nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
