Here, you will be part of a talented, compassionate, and driven team of caregivers, work withstate-of-the-arttechnology and provide stellar patient care.\nAs a Perioperative Educational Program Coordinator, you will work in conjunction with the Professional Development Manager to plan, implement and evaluate departmental orientation and education activities for clinical and support caregivers. This position isa great wayto share your knowledge and skills with other caregivers while creating opportunities for others to learn and grow. There are multiple options for professional development in this role, such as certifications, advanced education, distinguished educatorcertificateand simulation fellowships.\nA caregiver in this position works daysfrom7:00AM - 4:00PM.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nPlan and implement orientation for new hires.\n\nAssisteducation caregivers in assigning unit preceptors.\n\nAssistin interviewing new caregivers.\n\nComplete probationary performance evaluations for new hires andparticipatein annual evaluations with unit managers.\n\nCoordinate continuing education and training programs and staff development within the department.\n\nAssistin coordinating programs with local colleges and universities.\n\nPerform patient care up to 20% of work time inareaof clinicalexpertisein order todemonstrateclinical competence and be able to teach others.\n\nActivelyassistthe management team with ensuring caregiver compliance with regulatory requirements. This may include training and recertification for CPR, ACLS, annual education on fire safety, diversity, code management,HIPPAAand coordination of TB testing.\n\nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)\n\nCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)\n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross\n\nIf performing moderate/procedural sedation, must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of hire\n\nTwo years of perioperative experience, specifically in circulating/OR setting\n\nDemonstratedexpertisein a clinical specialty with current patient care competence\n\nKnowledge of adult learning theory, motivational strategies, change theory, group process skills, leadershipstrategiesand teaching\n\nDemonstrated computer skillsutilizingclinical systems (Epic/Optime) and Microsoft applications (Excel,Wordand PowerPoint)\n\nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nMaster’s Degree\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nRequires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.\nRequires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours.\nRequires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.\nPersonal Protective Equipment:\nFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.\nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
