This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it not only an excellent medical facility, but also a home away from home.\nThe Pharmacy Technician - Oncology supports a large inpatient infusion pharmacy located on campus in a building separate from the main hospital. This role compounds sterile preparations throughout the day while assisting with inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies. The technician collaborates closely with fellow pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and nursing staff in a rewarding, team-oriented environment that offers the opportunity to learn a unique oncology specialty within a supportive team.\n\nA caregiver in this role will work an 8-hr shift, Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30am and 4:30pm. No weekend, holiday or on call expectations.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nPrepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. \nDeliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. \nMaintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections. \nMaintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training. \nUse information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks. \nAssist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. \nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nA high school diploma or GED \nLicensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician \nAbility to communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner \nDemonstration of emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships \nAbility to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds \nBasic computer skills \nMust meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:\nMust be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA)\n AND it is required to hold an active registration through the Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee. If certified but current status with the Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the FBOP within six months of hire.\nPlease note: A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with FBOP does not qualify for this role.
