This collaborative workplace supports a wide range of caregivers, clinical professionals, and operational teams. While many positions are based within the center, numerous home-visiting roles-including case managers, nurses, and therapists-travel throughout the Greater Cleveland and Akron/Canton areas to deliver exceptional care directly to patients in their homes.\nFeeling physically stable is of the utmost importance, as our health impacts every aspect of our lives. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you support this mission by applying a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of functional limitations, impairments and disorders. This role is critical in ensuring patients feel at their best, empowering them to take control of their treatment. Every day, you can make a lasting difference in their lives, all while gaining extensive hands-on experience and finding your place within an innovative healthcare system. This role will provide coverage to patients residing west of I-77 - western Cleveland towards Tremont and south to Brooklyn.\nA caregiver in this position works 8:00am to 5:00pm with weekend rotations 10 or 11 Saturday per year. 1 summer holiday is required.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nAdminister patient centered Physical Therapy treatment incorporating evidence-based practice and skilled techniques to achieve optimal functional outcomes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. \nObserve, communicate and document patient progress and response to treatment. \nPlan, organize and implement individualized therapeutic programs with patient/family, incorporating evidence-based practice. \nProvide education on Physical Therapy related subjects to patients, clients, caregivers, hospital personnel and the community. \nAct as a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students. \nAct as a resource for volunteers and observers. \nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nAssociate's Degree or certificate \nGraduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association \nCurrent state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) \nBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) \nValid Driver’s License (VDL) with proof of $100,000/$300,000 coverage insurance coverage for Homecare \nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nExperience in a clinical area \nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.\nAbility to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.\nAbility to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.\nSensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.\nVisual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.\nAbility to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.\nAbility to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.\nPersonal Protective Equipment:\nFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.\nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
