This role supports daily quality assurance activities, performs routine equipment maintenance, and helps ensure compliance with laboratory standards.\nThe Lead Technician guides day-to-day workflow, assists with problem-solving, and maintains smooth operational processes in a fast-paced environment. Additional responsibilities include participating in meetings with supervisors and managers, contributing to process improvements and future development initiatives, and providing training and performance feedback to team members. This position functions as an extension of the leadership team, supporting both operational excellence and team growth.\n\nA caregiver in this position works evenings, 3:00pm - 11:00pm\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nPerform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance) \nPerform problem solving functions and solving/issue resolution. \nEnsure compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring). \nPerform QA activities (pending log audit). \nOversee shift operations and manage workflow issues. \nAdjust daily schedule as needed. \nAct as a technical resource, ensuring SOPs and policies are followed and FVPM of equipment is performed as required. \nAssist in troubleshooting. \nInform management/supervision of issues and ensure appropriate communication between shifts. \nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nHigh School Diploma/GED \nAssociate’s Degree (preferably in Science) and two years of lab processing experience \nOR Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Medical Laboratory Science can substitute for two years of experience \n4 years of lab technician or comparable processing experience may substitute the Associate’s Degree requirement \nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nBachelor’s Degree \nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements\nAbility to move about the designated work area and ability to travel throughout the hospital campus.\nAbility to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods of time. \nHandles and transports bio hazardous materials.\nVisual acuity with the ability to differentiate color, hue, saturation and tones.\nMust be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.\nPersonal Protective Equipment:\nFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as defined in the exposure control plan.\nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
