We are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.\nAs a Research Nurse Coordinator, you will help us achieve this goal by overseeing the implementation and conduct of various human subject research projects. In this role, you will use your nursing knowledge to perform a variety of related tasks, including care plan development, condition evaluations, telephone triage, documentation and more. You will care for research patients across various disease specialties and perform blood draws, EKGs, informed consent, patient screening and closeout visits. You will also assist with regulatory activities and data entry using electronic data capture systems.\nA caregiver in this role works a hybrid schedule Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with one day onsite each week and up to 5% travel.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nCoordinate the implementation and conduct of research projects ensuring adherence to research protocol requirements including timely completion and \nComplete and communicate regulatory documents, develop data, monitor plans, report Serious Adverse Events as the occur and complete FDA and sponsor forms. \nServe as a liaison between investigators, research personnel, outside study personnel and central research administration offices to assist in protocol interpretation, enrollment and safety questions. \nAssess research subjects, complete nursing assessments, document findings in research subject records and notify the physician of abnormal findings. \nEstablish a care plan in collaboration with the research subject, family and research team and coordinate ongoing care. \nIdentify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning as appropriate. \nPerform telephone triage, nursing procedures and treatments. \nEvaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care consistent with CCHS policies & procedures. \nAssist with specialized patient care equipment as required by the clinical research protocol. \nAdminister medications and treatments as ordered by a physician or LIP. \nDirect, coordinate and participate in the evaluation & supervision of nursing care provided to research subjects, establishing patient care priorities and delegating nursing activities according to the patient needs and staff qualifications and capabilities. \nConduct and document the informed consent process. \nMay assist PI with research study design and development of the research protocol. \nMay assist with research project budget development. \nPerform other duties as assigned. \nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nGraduate from an accredited school of professional nursing \nCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) \nBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross\nBasic computer proficiency \nFour years of clinical experience \nTwo years of research experience \nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nBachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) \nPhysical Requirements:\nRequires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.\nRequires standing and walking for extended periods of time.\nRequires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.\nRequires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.\nExposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.\nMedium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
