As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you’ll help connect our community across Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, employee parking areas, and special events while providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation. You’ll provide transportation for patients, visitors, and employees while maintaining a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.\nIn this role, you’ll also assist individuals with physical challenges when boarding or exiting the shuttle, including operating the wheelchair lift and properly securing wheelchairs before the shuttle is in motion. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety help ensure every passenger has a comfortable and positive experience.\n\nA caregiver in this position works M-F, 1:00pm-9:30pm.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nConduct friendly, courteous and helpful interactions with passengers. \nProvide wheelchair assistance to destination and provide positive hand off with destination caregiver. \nProvide safe, efficient and quality shuttle transportation service as measured by driving record, compliance with established DOT regulations and Cleveland Clinic safety policies. \nMaintain vehicle presentation and cleanliness at all times in accordance with policy and procedures. \nMaintain situational awareness both inside/outside the shuttle at all times. \nReport any suspicious behavior to CCPD. \nComplete daily passenger vehicle safety inspections prior to placing the shuttle into operation and at the end of the shift. \nRecord deficiencies and report prior to dispatching the vehicle. \nMaintain currency and effectiveness in operating wheelchair lift and associated equipment and safely secure patient and wheelchair at the wheelchair station. \nAssist passengers/luggage on/off shuttle. \nRecord ridership data. \nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nCan read and write sufficient to fill out maintenance check lists \nCan follow verbal directions and communicate in a clear and concise manner \nCommercial driving training for purpose of safe handling of a shuttle bus with a capacity of up to 40 passengers \nPossess a valid State Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with air brakes and passenger endorsement and have less than 6 points on record \nMaintain eligibility of insurability as determined by CCF's insurance carrier's requirement to operate Foundation vehicles \nDrivers assume responsibility to pay fees associated with traffic violations \n5 years driving experience \nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nHigh School Diploma \nPrior experience transporting passengers, patients or clients \nPrior commercial driving experience \nStrong safety awareness \nStrong customer service \nBasic computer skills \nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods\nAbility to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system\nAbility to travel to locations outside of the Cleveland Clinic health system\nAbility to communicate and exchange accurate information\nAbility to move items weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)\nAbility to move patients\nAbility to assist patients, visitors and caregivers in wheelchairs in getting into and out of vehicles\nAbility to drive\nAbility to inspect equipment\nAbility to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products\nAbility to distinguish color\nAbility to work in confined spaces\nPer Department of Transportation regulations, if you are a CDL driver you cannot be color blind. \nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
