At Cleveland Clinic, you will work alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.\nAs Simulation Operations Specialist, you will Provides advanced course and event-level operational and technical support for simulation-based education by independently managing complex simulation, audiovisual, and IT technologies, leading local simulation course delivery, and supporting educators through consultative integration of simulation environments and technologies to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality learner centered simulation experiences.\nA caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nEnsure the safe, ethical, psychologically safe, and learner-centered use of specialized simulation equipment and resources.\nAdhere to established simulation standards of best practice and policies.\nIdentify and address safety concerns during simulation activities.\nIndependently lead complex, interprofessional, and high-stakes simulation course operations.\nCoordinate technology, environments, and resources to support learner needs, faculty engagement, and consistent, high-quality content delivery.\nCollaborate with educators to advise on and support the design, delivery, evaluation, and effective integration of simulation environments and technologies.\nIndependently configure and operate simulation, audiovisual, and IT technologies to support reliable, standardized, and reproducible simulation delivery.\nEnsure optimal performance of simulation systems through routine functionality testing, updates, preventive and corrective maintenance, and vendor supported repairs.\nProvide specialized technical support and troubleshooting for simulation technologies, applying independent judgment to resolve complex issues impacting simulation operations.\nApply expertise in physiology, clinical procedures, moulage, and environmental stimuli to design, prepare, and implement scenario appropriate setups that support realistic, effective, and high-fidelity learning experiences.\nDesign and implement creative and innovative technical solutions to improve realism, efficiency, and educational value of simulation technologies.\nMonitor, order, control supply and rotate stock for simulation center labs.\nMaintain equipment inventory and current knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operations manuals.\nIdentify, report, and mitigate safety risks observed during in situ simulation activities. \nParticipate in post course debriefings and review course feedback and implement operational improvements to refine simulation delivery.\nProvide training and education for new simulation staff on proper use of equipment and overall operations.\nAssist department leadership with moderately complex projects; initiate or lead small projects.\nMaintain and advance professional expertise in simulation operations and technology through ongoing development and application of best practices\nOther duties as assigned.\nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nBachelor’s Degree\nTwo years of experience in healthcare simulation\n OR two years of experience in audiovisual, IT, theater, art, or related discipline may offset experience or degree requirement\nCertified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) within three years of hire\nSOS working primarily in surgical simulation lab may have CHSOS certification waived\nPreferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:\nOne year of healthcare simulation experience\nExperience in a healthcare environment\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods\nAbility to operate a computer and other office equipment\nAbility to communicate and exchange accurate information \nAbility to move up to 85 pounds with assistance\nAbility to work on overhead equipment\nAbility to work in confined, darkened areas.\nPersonal Protective Equipment:\nFollows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.\nThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
