Role Summary:

• We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join the Backend Engineering team at ClickPost. You will be part of a 0-to-1 product development team, building a new product from the ground up and taking it through architecture, development, deployment, and production.
• This role requires strong Java/Kotlin backend development experience and someone who has hands-on experience building and running production applications end-to-end. You will play a key role in making architectural decisions, developing core product capabilities, and building a scalable and reliable foundation for the product.

What You Will Do:

• Build a product from 0-to-1, taking ownership from initial design through production deployment.
• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Java/Kotlin.
• Make key technical and architectural decisions as the product evolves.
• Build core product capabilities with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Work across the complete application lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Design and work with databases, messaging systems, and distributed services.
• Identify and solve technical challenges involved in scaling the product from its initial stage to production scale.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the systems and features you build.

What You Will Need:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin, preferably in backend application development.
• Proven experience building and taking backend applications from development to production.
• Strong understanding of backend engineering fundamentals, APIs, databases, and software design principles.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems is preferred.
• Good understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
• Experience with application deployment, monitoring, debugging, and production support.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound technical decisions independently.
• High ownership mindset with the ability to work effectively in a 0-to-1 environment, where you will need to build, iterate, and solve problems with limited existing infrastructure.
• Exposure to LLMs, AI platforms, or building AI-powered applications is a strong plus.
