These roles will report to the DC Supervisor.\nJob description\nJob Purpose:\nTo operate a forklift safely and productively in order to move, load, unload and position stock within the distribution centre and to support the overall logistics operations by maintaining accurate stock flow and a safe working environment.\nJob Objectives:\nTo operate the forklift in a safe and productive manner within the distribution centre in order to move, load, unload, stack and store products as well as pallets to support the continuous flow of stock daily.\nTo perform accurate handling, scanning and recording of stock in alignment with WMS requirements and stock management principles and procedures.\nTo maintain full operational readiness of the forklift by conducting daily inspections, completing required maintenance documentation and reporting safety hazards, damages or equipment issues immediately to the departmental manager in order to reduce downtime and operational risk.\nTo comply with health, safety and housekeeping standards aligned to SOPs and safety regulations in order to maintain a safe work environment.\nTo support operational efficiency within the distribution centre by coordinating effectively with team members in order to provide a high level of service to internal and external customers and contribute to daily operational targets.\nTo perform additional duties as required from time to time in order to support operational continuity and respond to changing business needs.\nMinimum requirements\nExperience:\nKnowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations \nUnderstanding of reach truck inspections and maintenance procedures \nKnowledge of load management \nUnderstand the basics of bin management\nUnderstanding of labels and dispatch documents.\nEducation:\nNational Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.\nValid Forklift operator certificate/license\nCompetencies:\nAttention to detail\nAble to work under time pressure/time deadline\nAble to work in a team\nAccuracy and Numerical ability
