If you are local to one of our hubs (Toronto, Calgary, or Burnaby) then you will be expected to be in office twice per week on days of your choice. If you are not local to our hubs, then you may work remotely across Canada or the US, but our offices are open if you would like to visit.\nWhat your team does:\nAt Clio, we are proud to have an exceptional team dedicated to transforming the legal experience for all, and our engineering team’s goal is to deliver outstanding solutions that empower and delight our customers.\nThe AI team leverages cutting-edge advancements in natural language processing, GenAI and agentic systems to develop innovative tools that streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and enable legal professionals to focus on what matters most - justice.\nA day in the life might look like:\nDevelop advanced machine learning models using structured and unstructured data to improve Clio’s customer’s experience\nCreate LLM/agentic based solutions to help Clio’s clients to save time and create efficiencies\nCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, operations, and data science to identify new ML-driven features for Clio customers\nWork in an agile environment with our team of machine learning engineers, MLOps engineers, and software developers across a variety of projects\nWhat you may have:\nHands-on experience in model development, specifically with designing and shipping agentic systems, including retrieval, tool use, orchestration, and the evaluation frameworks that keep them reliable and safe in production.\nProficiency in data manipulation, cleaning, and pre-processing for complex unstructured data sets\nA proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment with distributed teams and customers\nExperience working with open-source LLM foundation models and APIs for commercial LLMs, such as ChatGPT or Gemini\nA history of past projects showcasing your successes, challenges, and growth as an ML expert\nClear communication skills and the ability to build trust with both internal teams and external customers\nDemonstrated success in mentorship within software development, particularly using an agile process and with large-scale SaaS products\nA strong desire to continuously learn, challenge yourself, and refine your craft as an ML engineer\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.\n#LI-Remote\nWhat you will find here:\nCompensation is one of the main components of Clio’s Total Rewards Program.
