The role combines three things:\nWith clients: advising them and shaping the right solution.\nHands-on delivery: designing, building and supporting solutions in production.\nProductizing: turning client work into repeatable services.\nYou'll work across our teams, and your ideas will directly shape how we deliver.\nThis is an active hybrid role that requires working from our Richmond Hill office a few days each week.\nWhat you'll do -\nClient advisory and pre-sales\nLead discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders to find and rank automation opportunities.\nAssess clients' data, systems and security readiness for AI.\nBuild demos and proofs of concept, and help scope solutions for proposals.\nSolution design and delivery\nDesign and build AI-powered workflows and integrations with ERP, CRM, e-commerce and Microsoft 365 environments.\nDeliver document processing solutions for invoices, purchase orders, shipping documents and contracts.\nBuild knowledge assistants grounded in each client's own content, with access controls respected.\nDesign solutions with appropriate human review, audit trails and security controls.\nChoose the right technology for each client's environment.\nProductize the work\nTurn recurring client problems into repeatable offerings, including:\nPackaged services: well-scoped offers with clear pricing inputs, timelines and a defined way to measure success.\nReusable accelerators: pre-built components, connectors, prompts and templates that shorten delivery.\nStandard discovery and assessment methods: consistent workshops, questionnaires and scoring models.\nReference architectures: proven, secure designs for common use cases and platforms.\nRepeatable implementation plans: standard phases, tasks, roles and go-live criteria.\nClearly defined deliverables and outcomes: what clients receive at each stage, and how value is measured.\nKeep these assets current as you learn from each engagement, and help the team adopt them.\nOngoing improvement\nMonitor solutions in production for accuracy, usage and cost.\nTune and improve solutions over time, and find new opportunities with clients.\nWhat you bring\nRequired\n5+ years in solution engineering, technical consulting, or software or data engineering, with at least 2 years building generative AI or automation solutions in production.\nHands-on experience with large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI or similar), including prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation and agent frameworks.\nExperience deploying and operating agent harnesses such as Hermes Agent, OpenClaw, Claude Code or similar. This covers configuring tools, skills and memory; connecting agents to business systems; and running them securely in production.\nStrong integration skills: APIs, Python or TypeScript, and business systems such as ERP, CRM and Microsoft 365.\nA track record of turning one-off project work into repeatable services, accelerators or delivery methods.\nAn understanding of AI security and privacy, including Canadian privacy requirements such as PIPEDA and Québec's Law 25.\nThe ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical and executive audiences.\nYou enjoy variety, working independently, and taking ownership from design through to delivery.\nNice to have\nExperience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Power Automate, AWS Bedrock or n8n.\nDocument AI experience (Azure AI Document Intelligence, Google Document AI).\nExperience building service offerings in a consulting or managed-services firm.\nCertifications such as Azure AI Engineer or AWS Machine Learning.\nFrench is an asset.\nWhat we offer\nVaried client work across industries.\nReal influence over how our offerings are designed and delivered.\nAccess to specialists in strategy, data, digital and security.\nHybrid working & learning support\nUmbrella Inc is committed to creating and maintaining a workplace that is free from harassment and discrimination under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
