We’re creating a complete open-source PaaS stack built on Kubernetes, spanning serverless computing, managed databases, MLOps, monitoring and observability.\nYou’ll join a team laying the platform’s foundations. We work with a strong sense of ownership: the architectural decisions we make today will shape the platform for years to come. It’s an opportunity to have a real say in the future of European cloud infrastructure.\nThe role\nYou’ll build and develop managed services at the heart of our PaaS platform, such as Database as a Service (DBaaS), Registry as a Service (RaaS) and MLOps as a Service. Following a you build it, you own it approach, you’ll take responsibility for your services from Kubernetes integration through APIs and documentation.\nYour work will influence how customers build and run applications on the platform. You’ll be joining a growing team at an early stage, with plenty of scope to take ownership and grow with it.\nWhat you’ll do\nDevelop components that power our PaaS services.\nDesign solutions for multi-tenant environments and large-scale systems.\nWork with the Product Manager to turn business needs into technical solutions.\nBuild prototypes and proofs of concept for new ideas.\nImprove existing code and implement new components.\nMake technical decisions with security, scalability, reliability and maintainability in mind.\nKeep code quality high through reviews, automated testing, refactoring and sound engineering practices.\nInvestigate complex issues across PaaS services, shared services and cloud infrastructure.\nCollaborate with other engineering teams.\nCreate and maintain documentation and technical standards.\nWhat you’ll bring\nVery strong Python skills and hands-on experience with at least one framework, such as FastAPI, Flask or Django.\nA solid understanding of REST API design, including CRUD operations, error handling, data validation and versioning.\nExperience building persistence layers with PostgreSQL and Redis, including data modelling and migrations.\nExperience building distributed solutions for multi-tenant environments and large-scale systems.\nThe Kubernetes skills to deploy, configure and troubleshoot your own service independently.\nConfidence using AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code or Copilot, as part of your everyday workflow.\nThe ability to take ownership of a solution from the initial idea and design through to a working production system.\nNice to have\nExperience with Go.\nStrong knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments.\nExperience with asynchronous Python programming (asyncio) and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.\nExperience containerising applications with Docker and building CI/CD pipelines.\nFamiliarity with observability practices, including structured logging, metrics and distributed tracing.\nHands-on experience analysing PostgreSQL performance and query execution plans.\nFull-stack engineering experience.\nWhy join CloudFerro?\nBuild a cloud platform with purpose.
