This role combines deep technical expertise with project leadership, customer partnership, and mentorship across Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and DevOps environments. You will own complex technical outcomes, guide implementation decisions, and help engineers and customers succeed.\nWhat You'll Own\nCloud Architecture & Solution Delivery \nDesign and implement cloud-native solutions using Azure, AWS, and modern platform technologies. \nTranslate customer requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable architectures. \nLead deployment, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives across customer environments. \nArchitect, deploy, and continuously harden cloud and hybrid environments to meet security, compliance, and governance requirements while enabling scalable, reliable service delivery. \nTechnical Ownership & Operations \nOwn technical solutions throughout their lifecycle, from design and implementation through ongoing operations. \nImprove the reliability, security, scalability, and operational maturity of customer systems. \nSupport production workloads through on-call rotations and incident response when required. \nAutomation & Platform Engineering \nDrive Infrastructure as Code, automation, GitOps, and DevOps practices across projects. \nReduce operational toil through automation and process improvement. \nEstablish and apply engineering standards for cloud platforms, security, networking, and system administration, based on industry and CloudFit best practices. \nLeadership & Customer Partnership \nLead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and project implementation efforts. \nMentor engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing. \nPartner with customer stakeholders to shape solutions that meet mission and business objectives. \nWhat Success Looks Like\nDuring the first 6 months, you will: \nBuild trusted relationships with customers, project teams, and engineering peers. \nAssume ownership of customer environments and defined technical solution areas. \nContribute to cloud architecture, automation, and modernization initiatives. \nDemonstrate technical leadership through architecture reviews, mentoring, and complex problem-solving. \nDuring months 6 through 18, you will: \nLead complex cloud, platform, and modernization initiatives, exercising broad judgment in determining technical approaches and implementation strategies. \nDeliver measurable improvements in reliability, automation, security, and operational maturity while contributing to engineering best practices across projects. \nServe as a trusted technical advisor to customers and teammates, sharing knowledge, mentoring engineers, and helping teams navigate complex technical challenges. \nLonger term, you will strengthen engineering maturity, enable customer success, develop future technical leaders, and help shape CloudFit service engineering practices.\nWhat We're Looking For\n6-8+ years of relevant experience in cloud, platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering. \nStrong experience designing and operating Azure environments, with familiarity across AWS or hybrid architectures. \nExpertise with Infrastructure as Code, including Bicep, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies. \nExperience administering Kubernetes and deploying applications using modern GitOps and DevOps practices, including CI/CD Pipelines. \nExperience with enterprise cloud networking, governance, security, identity, Linux or Windows administration, and Git workflows. \nDemonstrated ability to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and influence team-level engineering decisions. \nStrong judgment and communication skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and engage technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nExperience writing production-ready scripts or code in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or a similar language. \nPreferred: Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Azure certification, or comparable cloud certification. These credentials are valued but not required.\nAdditional Requirements\nUS Citizenship is required. \nAbility to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance. \nAbility to travel to support customers in secure or air-gapped environments. \nParticipation in on-call support rotations may be required. \nAbility to meet customer-specific access, credential, or security requirements when applicable. \nKey Partners\nThis role works closely with Service Engineers, Platform Engineers, Software Engineers, project and delivery leaders, security teams, customer stakeholders, and CloudFit leadership to deliver high-quality technical solutions and customer outcomes.\nThe salary range for this role is $85,800 - $173,599.92 + benefits, & perks.\nPlease note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level and location.
