You will own complex features from idea through production, partner with customers and teammates, and help strengthen engineering practices across the team.\nThis role is a strong fit for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, leading technical work, mentoring others, and turning customer needs into secure, reliable software.\nWhat You'll Own\nCloud Application Delivery\nDesign, build, deploy, and support cloud-native applications and services.\n\nOwn features and systems across their lifecycle, from planning and development through production support.\n\nMake thoughtful technical trade-offs that balance quality, speed, security, and business needs.\n\nHelp manage multiple applications at scale by building tools and automation to ensure quality and consistency.\n\nTechnical Leadership\nLead technical projects and help the team plan, estimate, and manage delivery risks.\n\nMentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.\n\nImprove engineering standards, automation, testing, and system reliability.\n\nFoster a culture of technical excellence that spans across the company\n\nCustomer and Team Collaboration\nPartner with customers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and shape practical solutions.\n\nCommunicate technical recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nParticipate in Agile planning, engineering reviews, and cross-team collaboration.\n\nOperational Excellence\nBuild security, observability, and maintainability into the solutions you deliver.\n\nHelp evolve team processes and tools through continuous improvement.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nDuring the first 6 months, you will:\nBuild a strong understanding of CloudFit products, customers, engineering practices, and production environments.\n\nTake ownership of meaningful feature work and deliver secure, supportable solutions.\n\nEstablish effective partnerships with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.\n\nBegin contributing technical guidance and mentorship within the team.\n\nDuring months 6 through 18, you will:\nLead complex technical initiatives and solve challenging engineering problems, applying sound judgment and creativity to deliver effective solutions.\n\nStrengthen team practices related to quality, automation, reliability, and delivery while influencing engineering standards and technical decision-making.\n\nMentor engineers through technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and project guidance, helping create an environment where individuals and teams can succeed.\n\nLonger term, you will help shape how the engineering team operates through your technical leadership, mentorship, and project contributions, creating the conditions for collaboration, growth, and sustained delivery excellence.\nWhat We're Looking For\n6 - 8 years' experience building and supporting modern cloud-based or distributed applications.\n\nStrong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and system design.\n\nProven examples of learning and implementing solution from new technologies.\n\nExperience creating patterns, libraries, and processes that empower software development teams\n\nAbility to navigate stakeholders from minimal initial requirements.\n\nExperience with Agile delivery and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.\n\nProven experience leading teams and customers through bugs and live site issues.\n\nHands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.\n\nAdditional Requirements\nUS Citizenship is required.\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.\n\nAbility to travel to support customers in secure or air-gapped environments.\n\nParticipation in on-call support rotations may be required.\n\nAbility to meet customer-specific access, credential, or security requirements when applicable.\n\nKey Partners\nYou will work closely with software engineers, product and delivery partners, customer-facing teams, technical leaders, and customers to turn requirements into secure, reliable solutions.\nCloudFit is committed to staying at the forefront of AI adoption to enhance engineering productivity and delivery.
