You will assume responsibility for costs, methods, operations, quality and production efficiency. You will coordinate the activities of all operating departments to ensure the facility is operating within plan, budget and objectives while in compliance with all local laws and federal regulations.\nA Day in the Life\nInitiate and direct the development of, and adherence to, food safety practices and procedures and assume ultimate responsibility for plant housekeeping and safety.\n\nDemonstrate leadership and judgment consistent with company philosophy, goals and objectives.\n\nMonitor actual versus planned performance of manufacturing departments; pursue and implement remedies to problems. Assume ultimate responsibility for production and quality of the work place.\n\nPlan and coordinate work, train and motivate employees, monitor and evaluate performance of employees; counsel, document actions and discipline as appropriate.\n\nDirect production activities to meet sales objectives at maximum efficiency and minimum cost.\n\nDevelop action plans for continuous improvement, including efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.\n\nReview production costs and product quality, and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant.\n\nDevelop ideas to improve overall plant performance.\n\nPromote employee safety.\n\nEnsure the housekeeping in the immediate and surrounding work area is maintained or improved to the highest level possible.\n\nUnderstand and support both quality policies and the Quality System.\n\nIdentify and address any opportunities to reduce cost, improve product/process and/or improve overall operations.\n\nExecute all job duties in accordance with Clover’s rigorous Food Safety and Quality programs and policies.\n\nFully understand your role and associated responsibilities for maintaining food safety and quality at Clover.\n\nWhat You Bring to the Team\nBachelor’s degree in either business or engineering preferred and up to 7 years industry experience with at least 5 years supervisory experience in a role which afforded exposure to all areas of plant operations OR equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nExperience leading, motivating and training employees.\n\nAbility to supervise others in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.\n\nGood interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.\n\nMust demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.\n\nMust be a self-motivated problem solver who will drive projects and people.\n\nExperience and knowledge in dairy or other food production preferred.\n\nWarehouse experience a plus\n\nUnion experience a plus\n\nWe value Clover Sonoma’s company culture and values and an ideal candidate would: Have an overwhelmingly positive attitude; Value and listen to other team members; Possess the aptitude for creative problem solving and critical thinking; and Have the courage to do the right thing even when difficult or unpopular.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, through a range of motion, including bending and twisting, from ground level up to 6 feet off of the ground.\n\nAbility to reach above shoulder level.\n\nAbility to regularly climb stairs to access catwalks and walk on a variety of surfaces.\n\nAbility to work partly outdoors.\n\nAbility to work in a refrigerated warehouse @ +34 degrees Fahrenheit.\n\nAbility to work around various detergents and sanitizing solutions ranging in temperatures from 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 160 degrees Fahrenheit.\n\nWorking Hours\nClover Sonoma operates 24 hours/7 days a week.\nBased in Petaluma, California, in the heart of beautiful Sonoma County, Clover Sonoma offers high quality dairy sourced from its network of local family farms.
