Clubessential is a software provider for clubs and membership businesses and is part of Xplor Technologies, which offers vertical software, embedded payments and AI-powered capabilities for fitness, recreation, golf and club, field services, laundry and education businesses. Its postings cover software engineering, implementation consulting, product ownership, customer support and business development. The company is headquartered in Blue Ash, Ohio, United States.

Xplor Technologies powers the experiences at the heart of everyday life. Through modern vertical software, embedded payments, and AI-powered capabilities, we help businesses in fitness, recreation, golf and club, field services, laundry, education, and other membership-based and service-based industries simplify operations, uncover insights, and elevate customer and member experiences.

We unite popular brands such as foreUP, myFitApp, Vermont Systems, Momence, Exerp, Mariana Tek, Resamania, FieldEdge, CampBrain and many more.

Join our Cubessential Brand under the Golf & Club vertical as Product Designer to make a real impact every day. We say that because we know that every conversation we have, every interface we design, and every new feature we ship is another opportunity for us to elevate everyday life experiences for our customers and the people and communities they serve.

As our Product Designer, you will be a designer and design ambassador across our product families, working in an AI-optimized software development lifecycle (AI SDLC) where product, engineering, QA and design build together, with AI part of how everyone works. On an AI-optimized team, designers spend less time on repetitive production work and more on problem framing, customer insight and quality. You will use AI across discovery, design, prototyping and build, and you stay accountable for the quality of what ships.

You will combine qualitative and quantitative data with your talent and instincts to turn customer insight into delightful product designs, using AI to explore faster and test sooner. A key focus of the role is maintaining our design system and the AI skills that support prototyping. We expect you to lead with judgment, taste and customer empathy, and to work in a way that reflects our company values.

Some of the things you'll do:

  • Understand customers and shape the problem
    • Set design requirements based on input from internal teams and user research.
    • Collect and interpret qualitative and quantitative feedback, and use AI tools to synthesize research, support themes and usage data at speed, while checking the output against the source.
    • Identify new product improvement opportunities, and analyze how a new product meets market needs and customer preferences.
  • Design and validate
    • Produce UX/UI to support the product roadmap across our family of products.
    • Use AI-assisted workflows to explore more options, build prototypes and cover edge cases and states earlier, then bring your own judgment to choose the best direction.
    • Present design ideas to Product Managers and Owners, Engineers, QA, other cross-functional teams, customers and prospects, and use their feedback to validate and refine designs.
    • Modify and revise existing designs as customer preferences change.
  • Build alongside engineering
    • Work closely with Product Management, Engineers and QA to suggest improvements to products and processes.
    • Review AI-assisted builds for design fidelity, accessibility and consistency, and give clear, specific feedback early.
    • Provide support to Product Management and Engineers whenever it helps the team move faster.
  • Maintain the design system and AI skills
    • Maintain and evolve the design system and design library across our family of products, keeping components, tokens and guidelines organized, current and consistent.
    • Build and maintain the AI skills, prompts and templates that support prototyping, so the team can move from idea to working prototype quickly and stay true to the design system.
    • Document design principles, patterns, components and research so people and AI tools can both use them. A well-structured design system and knowledge base is what lets AI-assisted teams build consistently.
    • Share reusable workflows and coach the wider team on using AI well for design tasks.
  • Design for AI-powered experiences
    • Design the experience of AI-powered product features, including how they set expectations, show their reasoning, let people stay in control, handle mistakes and build trust.
    • Follow company policy on responsible AI use, including how customer and company data is handled in AI tools.
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, market conditions and new AI design tools and techniques, and recommend the ones worth adopting.

Working arrangements:

  • Fully Remote in United States: You can work remotely in this position, provided you reside in United States, have full working rights and do not require sponsorship.

You'll need:

  • Proven experience in all phases of the design process: user research, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design and usability testing.
  • A well-rounded portfolio that shows a strong understanding of customer and business objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual communications, graphic design or a related field, or relevant experience (4+ years).
  • 5+ years of relevant design experience, including UX/UI.
  • AI fluency- Hands-on experience using generative AI tools in your design work, for example research synthesis, ideation, prototyping or content.
  • Ability to write clear prompts, evaluate AI output critically and know when to trust it, edit it or discard it.
  • Understanding of how AI-powered features behave, including variable output and the chance of errors, and how to design for that.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to change how you work as AI tools and team practices evolve.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience building or maintaining a multi-product design system, including components and design tokens.
  • Experience designing B2B software, vertical SaaS or payments experiences.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience prototyping with AI-assisted or code-based tools
