This is a hands-on, player-coach role: you’ll own the design of the CluePoints data layer and build it with the squad. You’ll report to our GM, with a dotted line to the VP Engineering.\nResponsibilities\nWhat You’ll Be DoingOwn the design of the CluePoints data layer and build it hands-on, writing production code alongside the squad.\nDesign a metadata-driven schema with a stable spine that absorbs change without breaking the applications built on it.\nBuild a semantic tier that maps study fields to concepts, keeping structure and meaning cleanly separate.\nDeliver a versioned, auditable query interface for our applications, with lineage and attributable change built in.\nSet the squad’s engineering and AI-first practices, using AI tools with clear verification and evaluation.\nCoach engineers through code and design, and partner with our GM and VP Engineering on direction.\nRequirements\nWhat You’ll Be DoingMetadata-driven platform experience: You have built and evolved a metadata-driven, schema-flexible data platform in production. You’ve lived through the schema changes, migrations, and edge cases that follow, not just the initial design.\nHands-on engineering: You still write production code. You contribute to the codebase, review pull requests, and stay close enough to the work to make sound technical calls.\nAudit-grade engineering mindset: You’ve worked in a regulated domain and built for lineage, versioning, and attributable change. You can show how every data point got to where it is and who changed it, and when.\nAI-first delivery: You use AI as a core part of how you and your team design, build, and ship, not as an occasional add-on\nNice to Have\nMulti-tenant SaaS experience with strong data segregation.\nFamiliarity with clinical data, CDISC, or standards such as FHIR, OMOP, and ODM.
