This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated employment litigation and counseling matters for employers, corporations, and public entities. This role offers substantial opportunities for direct client interaction, case management, courtroom advocacy, and trial experience.\nThis practice handles high-exposure employment matters for public entities involving FEHA and federal statute-based discrimination, retaliation, and reasonable accommodation claims, while also providing strategic advice and counsel to clients on issues including discipline and termination.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage a sophisticated caseload of 10-20 employment litigation matters from inception through resolution\nActively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies\nAssess Complaints filed in both State and Federal court and respond appropriately\nDraft and respond to discovery\nReview and analyze documents for production\nConduct legal research using Westlaw\nTake and defend both expert and fact depositions\nDraft and submit pleadings and motions\nAttend hearings and argue motions\nDraft pre-trial and trial documents\nPrepare cases for mediation/trial, and participate in mediation/trial\nActively and effectively report to our clients\nCo-chair in any matters that proceed to trial which includes direct and cross-examining witnesses, arguing trial related motions, and jury selection.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nSignificant labor and employment litigation experience representing employers. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
