The intern will assist with daily activities across key eDiscovery stages, including data identification, preservation, and collection. We are seeking a candidate who is eager to learn eDiscovery best practices, understand the fundamental stages of the litigation lifecycle, and is motivated to gain insight into the vast scale of electronically stored information (ESI) generated by a modern enterprise.\nIntern Responsibilities:\nAssist with setting up workflows for data preservation and data collection, including monitoring progress and documenting completion.\n\nDevelop skills in organizing vast amounts of collected materials with relevant custodians and matters.\n\nReview and update Legal Hold Record Inventory databases in collaboration with the Records and Information Management (RIM) team.\n\nProvide preliminary analysis of large datasets, implementing best practices for standard filtering options-such as deduplication and near-duplication-to effectively reduce the volume of data and turn it into a manageable collection.\n\nAssist in the testing and implementation of new data analytics and filtering methods for eDiscovery tools.\n\nApply established data filtering techniques to organize and process electronically stored information (ESI) efficiently.\n\nHelp us keep our internal \"playbook\" updated so our tools and workflows stay sharp.\n\nSkills and Requirements (Who You Are):\nA genuine interest in legal processes, technology, and information governance is essential.\n\nEagerness to learn about eDiscovery principles, including identification, preservation, acquisition, and analysis of electronically stored information.\n\nComfortable shifting priorities as business needs change.\n\nProficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office product suites.\n\nDesire to learn about industry-standard eDiscovery and litigation support tools and technology.\n\nExcellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.\n\nCreative thinking and effective problem solving skills.\n\nEducation:\nCurrently pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Legal Studies, or Business) with a year in industry 2026-7.\n\nOther Requirements:\nLocal to Belfast as you’ll be expected to be in the office three days per week\nWhat you’ll gain:\nBenefits including: Private Medical and Dental coverage, Mental Health Benefit Programme, Group Pension Plan, Income Protection, Life Assurance, Gym Membership\n\nExtensive support and ongoing development in this field\n\nHybrid Working\n\nCME Group: Where Futures are Made\nCME Group is the world’s leading derivatives marketplace.
