Markets SREs work on products and applications for CME’s Globex trading platform, where our systems deliver an exceptional combination of low-latency performance and rock-solid reliability to seamlessly handle the world’s busiest trading days.\nThe successful candidate will work alongside with senior engineers to observe, monitor, automate, and improve the reliability of our production services.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild Observability: Collaborate with product teams to design and implement robust monitoring, alerting, and observability for key services.\nEnhance Reliability: Provide SRE expertise on reliability, scalability, and performance for new features and system changes.\nAutomate & Innovate: Write scripts and tools to automate operational tasks, reduce toil, and improve engineering velocity.\nIncident Response: Participate in an on-call rotation and assist in incident response under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to a culture of blameless post-mortems.\nImprove Resiliency: Contribute to Disaster Recovery (DR) and resiliency testing to ensure our systems meet strict availability requirements.\nCloud Migration: Support the migration of Markets applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nWhat We're Looking For\n5-8+ years of professional experience in a Site Reliability, DevOps, Software, or Systems Engineering role.\nA keen interest and passion for Site Reliability Engineering principles.\nDemonstrable ability to automate operational tasks using a language like Python or Bash.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical abilities.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.\nDesirable Skills\nCloud Platforms: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially GCE and/or GKE.\nMonitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, or Splunk.\nDistributed Systems: Knowledge of working with large-scale distributed systems.\nContainerization: Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.\nNetworking: Basic knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP, TCP/UDP, IP).\nDomain Knowledge: Experience in financial markets or with message-oriented middleware.\nWhy CME Group\nBe part of a global leader in financial services technology.\nWork on cutting-edge technology in a collaborative and innovative culture.\nReceive a competitive compensation and benefits package.\nGrow your career in SRE with an organization committed to this modern approach.\nJoin CME Group and play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and performance of our global trading applications.
