The role ensures equipment is safe, reliable, and maintained in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, Company standards, and established procedures.\nMain Responsibilities\nInspect, service, maintain, repair, and overhaul work equipment, including heavy-duty maintenance-of-way equipment\nDiagnose diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic system malfunctions and complete required repairs\nRepair, replace, clean, adjust, and test components in accordance with applicable regulations, Company standards, and established procedures\nUse electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication equipment, diagnostic devices, and other repair tools safely and effectively\nOperate a service truck and other assigned vehicles or equipment in accordance with applicable laws and Company policies\nPrepare inspection, maintenance, and work reports and record required details on prescribed forms or systems\nMaintain tools, equipment, parts, and the service vehicle in safe working condition\nRespond to equipment failures and perform other related duties as required\nWorking Conditions\nWork a rotational schedule away from home, which may include 9 days on and 5 days off or 8 days on and 6 days off, based on operational requirements\nWork irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime\nPerform approximately 90% of the work in a field environment from a service truck\nTravel regularly, up to 90%, across the assigned territory, with Company-provided accommodations when required\nWork outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions and around moving equipment, vehicles, and railway operations\nFrequently lift or carry up to 50 lb. The initial training may include approximately four weeks at a Company training campus.
