This role will support the profitable growth and effective governance of our facilities, consortia and other delegated underwriting arrangements, combining disciplined underwriting judgement with data-led portfolio insight and collaborative stakeholder engagement.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing: \nManage delegated arrangements: Support the day-to-day underwriting of existing deals, endorsements and new proposals across facilities, consortia and other portfolio solutions.\nAssess opportunities: Review underwriting submissions, contract documentation, due diligence materials and financial information to determine quality, viability and alignment with appetite, standards and portfolio objectives.\nOversee governance: Monitor underwriting activity throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, delegated authorities and governance frameworks, with clear referral and escalation where required.\nAnalyse portfolio performance: Assess profitability, portfolio mix, indexation metrics and emerging trends, using data, analytics and AI-enabled tools to identify risks, opportunities and areas requiring management attention.\nBuild effective partnerships: Work closely with Actuarial, Delegated Underwriting, ECM, Compliance, Finance, brokers and other stakeholders to progress sound underwriting and portfolio management decisions.\nWhat We’re Looking For: \nUnderwriting knowledge: A sound understanding of insurance underwriting theories and practices, ideally gained within delegated or portfolio underwriting arrangements.\nPortfolio insight: Experience assessing portfolio performance, identifying key underwriting issues and making clear recommendations to support referrals and underwriting decisions.\nGovernance awareness: An understanding of underwriting governance, due diligence and referral processes, including relevant policies and authority levels.\nMarket experience: Experience in Portfolio Solutions, delegated underwriting or Property portfolios within the Lloyd’s market would be advantageous, alongside familiarity with placement platforms such as PPL and Whitespace.\nAnalytical and collaborative approach: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities and escalate issues appropriately\nThe Company\nCNA Hardy is a leading specialist commercial insurance provider for clients within the Lloyd’s and company markets.
