Data Engineering interns will participate in the design, development and integration of strategic, high-priority data applications across the entire software development lifecycle.\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\nProgram Features and Benefits:\nChallenging, innovative assignments that provide real-world experience in applying technical education to technology projects\n\nParticipate in the building of large-scale data processing systems and data lakes, optimizedfor both computational and storage efficiency on Google Cloud Platform\n\nApply technical knowledge on data modeling and best engineering practices\n\nParticipate in design of complex physical data models, projectsand cloud-based data lake constructs, including SQL/NoSQL database systems\n\nWork directly with experienced CNA developers to learn Agile programming methodology\n\nIn-deptheducation in technology, the insurance industry, CNA’s organization and how Technology plays a leading role in an insurer’s profitability\n\nA dedicated manager and a mentor who will guide you throughout your internshipprogram at CNA\n\nOpportunities to meet with members of our senior leadership team and learn about their personal experiencesin Technologywithin the insurance industry\n\nProfessional and personal development activities and ongoing feedback and coaching on performance\n\nConsideration for potential full-time placement upon graduation\n\nRequired Knowledge, Skillsand Experience:\nMust be a sophomore, junior or senior (undergraduate) or in first year of Master'sprogram pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technologyor related field\n\nA minimum 3.00GPA is required(overall and major)\n\nWorking knowledge of relational database concepts\n\n1+ years of coding proficiencyin at least one programming language (Python, R ,SQL)\n\nInterest in the Insurance Industry\n\nSome previouswork experience preferred\n\nAbility to work independently as well as in a team environment, and the ability to cultivate and maintainpositive business relationships\n\nStrong organizationalskills\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\n\nEffective problemsolving, analytical aptitude, learn quickly and embrace change\n\nAbility to learn and change quickly\n\nDemonstrated leadership ability\n\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future\n\nProgram Location:\nCNA’s corporate headquarters is located inthe heart of downtown Chicago at 151 N Franklin St, near all public transportation from the city and suburbs. The program will employ ahybrid workingmodel, alternating between working in the office and from home.\nIn certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois,Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is$35,000 to $65,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
