Faculty are responsible for providing high quality instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners so that each student may meet course outcomes and achieve their educational goals. Full-time faculty are also expected to perform college service in addition to the instructional duties listed below. This service beyond instruction is integral to the collaborative and innovative work we engage in with our internal and external community members to continuously improve the student learning experience, CNM's organizational excellence, and the larger community's success.Duties & Responsibilities\nInstructional Duties:Effectively prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in courses assigned.\nCreate and model a quality learning environment to support a diverse student population, including students with disabilities or special learning needs.\nStructure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes.\nPrepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate.\nConvene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.\nProvide assistance to students outside the classroom through posted office hours.\nIncorporate, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in a variety of teaching environments.\nMaintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes within established College timelines.\nAttend in-service sessions, college/school/department meetings, and convocation, as required.\nUtilize a variety of technology-based resources to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes.\nProvide for the security of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials and maintain safe working conditions.\nAbide by all college policies and regulations.\nParticipate in the development and review of course and program outcomes.\nUpdate and revise curriculum to maintain currency.\nPerform other instructional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean.\n\nProfessional Development:Regularly participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge in the field as well as industry credentials required by the program. maintain current credentials or licensures as required by program or accreditation.\nParticipate in professional development opportunities to advance teaching skills and strategies.\nParticipate in other appropriate development activities as may be determined by the Dean.\n\nCollege, School, Program/Discipline Service:Participate in school and college activities such as, but not limited to, developing new curriculum or student recruitment.\nCollaborate with faculty and staff from other schools/departments to promote communication, coordinate schedules, and support student success.\nCollaborate with high schools, universities, business and industry or external agencies as appropriate, and assist with program advisory committees as requested.\nSupport collegiality by actively participating in the professional development of new and veteran faculty (for example, mentoring, peer observations).\nServe on department, school, and college committees and task teams.\nParticipate in and assist with student activities and clubs.\nParticipate in other activities as appropriate and approved by the dean.\nPerforms other job related duties as assigned.\n\n Minimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Digital Media, Creative Media, Graphic Design, Media Arts, or related field.\nTwo (2) years of recent professional experience in digital or creative media or a related area.· At least two semesters of college-level teaching experience or documented experience teaching digital or creative media to adult learners.· Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in Digital Media, Creative Media, Graphic Design, Media Arts, or related field.\nExperience in areas such as graphic design, motion graphics, video production, digital imaging, interactive media, creative technology, or emerging media.\nExperience incorporating emerging technologies and digital tools into creative practice or instruction.\nAdobe Creative Cloud certifications or other relevant industry credentials.\nExperience teaching online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced courses.\nExperience with curriculum development and assessment of student learning.\nExperience with student recruitment, career preparation, industry partnerships, or work-based learning.\nExperience teaching dual-credit/high school students.\nDemonstrated ability to explain technical and creative concepts to first- and second-year college students.\nBest Consideration Date: 10/19/2026\n EEO STATEMENT:\nAs an EEO employer, Central New Mexico Community College will not discriminate in our employment practices based on an applicant’s race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, serious medical condition or status as a protected veteran or spousal affiliation.
