An instructor is responsible for providing high quality instruction so that each student may meet course outcomes. Collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to improve the student learning experience. Being hired into the regular part-time instructor pool is not a guarantee of employment. Classes are assigned on an as-needed basis. Hours will vary each class and by term. The number of openings for instructors is dependent upon student enrollment.Duties & Responsibilities\nResponsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning in courses assigned.\nCreate and model a quality learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs.\nMaintain student records and provide documentation for in-completes within established College timelines.\nUtilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes.\nAssist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.\nStructure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes.\nPrepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials,instructional media and other devices as appropriate.\nConvene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.\nAssist students outside the classroom through posted office hours.\nAttend in-service sessions, college/school/department meetings, graduation and convocation as required.\nPerforms other job related duties as assigned\n Minimum Qualifications:\nA Master's degree or equivalent in Mathematics from an accredited institution (must be conferred before beginning instruction); closely related degrees may be considered in combination with two semesters of post-secondary mathematics teaching experience. \nPreferences:\nRecent college instructional experience in lower division mathematics. \nExperience using a learning management system or online homework platform to support a face-to-face, hybrid, or online class. \nExperience using a variety of teaching methods including lecture, collaborative learning, active learning and individualized instruction. \nKnowledge of current developments in mathematics instruction. \n EEO STATEMENT:\nAs an EEO employer, Central New Mexico Community College will not discriminate in our employment practices based on an applicant’s race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, serious medical condition or status as a protected veteran or spousal affiliation.
