Being hired into the regular part-time instructor pool is not a guarantee of employment. Classes are assigned on an as-needed basis. Hours will vary each class and by term. The number of openings for instructors is dependent upon student enrollment.Duties & Responsibilities\nResponsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning in courses assigned.\nCreate and model a quality learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs.\nMaintain student records and provide documentation for in-completes within established College timelines.\nUtilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes.\nAssist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.\nStructure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes.\nPrepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials,instructional media and other devices as appropriate.\nConvene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.\nAssist students outside the classroom through posted office hours.\nAttend in-service sessions, college/school/department meetings, graduation and convocation as required.\nPerforms other job related duties as assigned\n Minimum Qualifications:\nAn Associate’s degree or Post-degree certificate in Paralegal Studies or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning\n2 years of recent paralegal experience (recent is defined as within the last five (5) years)\nPreferences:\nA Juris Doctor degree or Master’s degree in other legal studies field from an accredited institution of higher learning\nDemonstrated working knowledge of current issues, trends, and developments in paralegal instruction\nKnowledge in the content area; knowledge of the New Mexico Rule of Procedure and of the New Mexico court system and of all relevant forms and procedures used locally.\nPost-secondary teaching experience and experience teaching online, hybrid, or web-enhanced courses\nDemonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion\nDepartment: Health, Wellness, and Public Safety\nBest Consideration Date: October 20th\n EEO STATEMENT:\nAs an EEO employer, Central New Mexico Community College will not discriminate in our employment practices based on an applicant’s race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, serious medical condition or status as a protected veteran or spousal affiliation.
