Data sits right at the heart of Co-op, and you’ll play a key role in developing data products and AI solutions that empower colleagues to make faster, more informed decisions.\nWhy this role matters\nAs a Data Scientist at Co-op, you’ll use coding languages such as Python and SQL to solve complex data problems and optimise outcomes across our Food Retail, Funeralcare, Legal Services and Insurance business areas. You'll develop solutions that drive innovation and create value for millions of colleagues, customers, and member-owners. If you have the passion, curiosity, and problem-solving skills that we’re looking for, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career while making a meaningful impact in a values-led business.\nWhat you’ll do\nDevelop sustainable data products that drive value across Co-op, using the latest tools on the Databricks and Azure Cloud Technology platforms\nUse a range of statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, decision trees, and forecasting)\nWork with cutting-edge generative AI technologies, including LLMs, agents, and OCR\nTranslate complex business logic and strategic decision-making into code\nCollaborate with colleagues to understand their needs, present solutions, and gather feedback\nDrive innovation and explore ways for us to make better use of our Co-op data\nChampion the value of data across Co-op, playing an active role in driving AI adoption\nContinuously improve our products to ensure accuracy, security, and alignment with Co-op's ethical standards and responsible AI principles\nWhat you’ll bring\nWe’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria.
