nationally recognized litigation law firm is seeking Associate Attorneys with 2+ years of defense litigation experience to join its growing California practice.\nThe firm handles sophisticated civil litigation for clients across the country, with a particular focus on general liability, toxic tort, product liability, environmental liability, and other complex litigation matters.\nThis is an opportunity for attorneys who want substantive responsibility, direct involvement in cases, and the ability to independently manage matters while working alongside experienced litigators on both local and national accounts.\nAttorneys may join one of two primary practice areas:\nGeneral Liability\nRepresent clients in a broad range of civil defense matters, including premises liability, personal injury, product liability, and other complex liability claims.\nToxic Tort Litigation\nHandle sophisticated toxic tort and environmental litigation involving complex factual, medical, scientific, and expert issues.\nKey Responsibilities\nHandle local and national litigation matters throughout California\nIndependently manage an active defense litigation caseload\nDevelop case strategy in collaboration with partners and clients\nConduct plaintiff, fact witness, and expert depositions\nPrepare witnesses for depositions and trial\nReview and analyze discovery requests and case materials\nDraft and respond to written discovery\nResearch and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal documents\nHandle motion practice and court appearances\nWork directly with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other parties\nAssist with and participate in trial preparation and trial\nManage deadlines and cases efficiently from inception through resolution\nMaintain accurate and timely billing records\nRequirements\nCandidate Qualifications\nMinimum of 2+ years of defense litigation experience required\nExperience in one or more of the following areas strongly preferred:\nGeneral Liability\nProduct Liability\nToxic Tort Litigation\nEnvironmental Liability\nComplex Civil Litigation\nJuris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school required\nActive California Bar admission required\nExperience with substantive motion practice\nDeposition experience required\nExperience taking the lead on plaintiff and/or expert depositions strongly preferred\nStrong legal research and writing skills\nAbility to independently manage cases and competing deadlines\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nHighly organized with strong attention to detail\nAbility to effectively manage multiple matters in a fast-paced litigation environment\nNon-Negotiable Requirements\nCandidates must have:\nActive California Bar
