In this critical leadership role, you will guide Power Control operations, support outage restoration, coordinate with field personnel, and help ensure members receive timely, accurate, and courteous service\nSchedule: Rotating schedule including nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays\nBenefits:\nCompany paid Health Insurance Premiums!\nInsurance is effective your first day of employment\nRetirement Security Pension plan!\nAutomatic 7% Company paid contribution to 401k with additional matching!\nAnnual Bonus Program!\nTuition and Certification reimbursement!\nLearn more HERE\nTo learn more about Cobb EMC visit our website at www.cobbemc.com\nResponsibilities\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead Power Control Operations\nOversee the safe and effective operation of the electrical distribution system.\nOriginate, review, approve, and issue switching orders.\nMonitor system conditions, identify and isolate faults, and coordinate power restoration.\nAnalyze SCADA alarms and take appropriate action based on system conditions.\nRespond to emergencies involving transformers, distribution lines, and other system equipment.\nCoordinate with engineers, planners, field personnel, and utility workers regarding clearances, switching orders, and system changes.\nPartner with the SCADA/AMI team to help maintain accurate field-device information.\nMaintain current knowledge of evolving system-protection schemes.\nMaintain Accurate Records and Schedules\nMonitor and maintain records associated with SCADA, control-room equipment, weather radar, radio communications, and the video wall map board.\nMaintain required daily operational and security logs.\nEnsure radio logs comply with FCC regulations.\nOversee the proper processing of outage reports.\nProvide accurate monthly and annual trouble data for senior management.\nDevelop and maintain the department’s 24/7 rotating work schedule. \nSupport Members and Field Teams\nMonitor communications and ensure important information reaches the appropriate field locations.\nReport unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.\nEnsure member inquiries are addressed promptly, courteously, and professionally.\nRoute complaints to the appropriate personnel during normal business hours. \nStrengthen Operational Readiness\nMonitor system loads and automated field devices.\nHelp oversee the operation of SCADA equipment.\nDevelop and maintain written Power Control procedures.\nCreate and maintain initial and ongoing training for System Operators.\nImplement storm procedures when required.\nDemonstrate Power Control functions to touring groups.\nMaintain updated company information for public-relations purposes. \nDevelop and Lead the Team\nManage hiring, promotions, training, documentation, and other employment matters for department staff.\nCoach employees through hands-on guidance, reinforcement, and continued learning.\nManage daily workloads and employee schedules.\nConduct performance planning and review sessions.\nPromote fair and consistent treatment across the department.\nActively support Equal Employment Opportunity principles\nQualifications\nMinimum Requirements:\nHigh School or equivalent.\nMinimum one year experience as System Operator III or equivalent. Excellent working knowledge of line feeds, system locations, interpretation of system maps, work order procedures, corporate policies and procedures.\nGood working knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.\nSuccessful completion of required training courses and assessments for advancement to this position.\nSKILLS: Proficient with SCADA, OMS and the current Cobb EMC software for historical record keeping and reporting\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nDemonstrated supervisory skills.\nAbility to effectively communicate via two-way radio.\nAbility to effectively perform under pressure and in emergency situations.\nProficient in operating, testing and troubleshooting the Cobb EMC Electrical Distribution System including substation equipment, generators, and automated field device equipment via the SCADA system.\nProficiency with personal computers (i.e., current Windows operating system, Microsoft Word and Excel).\nProficient in maintaining accurate reports and records.\nProficient in performing outage analysis by feeder, recloser and other devices\nProficient in operating, testing and troubleshooting the Cobb EMC Electrical Distribution System including substation equipment, generators, and automated field device equipment via the SCADA system.\nPossess valid Integrated Transmission System (ITS) Operator’s Certification.\nPREFERRED:\nAssociates Degree in Electrical, Electronics or related field\nPrevious Supervisory Experience\nCORE Values:\nPut People First\nCare, listen and connect.
