We are looking for talented individual with relevant skills and experience for Maintenance Technician, which is based ain Midrand. \n\nFunctional Capabilities:\n Mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding and repairs\n Preventive and corrective maintenance execution\n Equipment inspections and condition monitoring\n Use of Computerised Maintenance Management System\n Reading and interpretation of technical drawings and OEM documentation\n SHEQ and GMP compliance during maintenance tasks\n Root cause analysis support and improvement participation\n Key Duties & Responsibilities\nKey Outcomes:\n\nPreventive & Corrective Maintenance Execution\n Execute scheduled maintenance tasks as per maintenance plans and OEM recommendations.\n Perform equipment inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to prevent breakdowns.\n Complete corrective maintenance promptly, ensuring minimal production disruption.\n Breakdown Response and Fault Diagnosis\n Respond quickly to unplanned breakdowns and faults across mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical systems.\n Troubleshoot root causes and implement effective, lasting repairs.\n Provide feedback and recommendations to prevent recurrence.\n Maintenance Quality and Compliance\n Ensure work is completed according to safety, quality, food safety, and environmental standards.\n Adhere to safe work procedures, including permit-to-work and lockout/tagout requirements.\n Complete job cards accurately in CMMS with full fault details, time, and materials used.\n Equipment Reliability and Performance\n Conduct condition monitoring tasks (e.g., visual inspections, temperature checks, vibration alerts) and escalate abnormalities.\n Support implementation of asset care initiatives such as 5S, RCA, and RCM.\n Contribute to reduction of chronic issues and equipment inefficiencies.\n Collaboration and Communication\n Communicate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Stores teams regarding maintenance activities and issues.\n Assist in training and knowledge sharing across the maintenance team.\n Support the Maintenance Controller with task planning, parts identification, and improvement suggestions.\n KBI:\n Planned maintenance compliance rate (%)\n Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)\n First-Time Fix Rate (%)\n Job card closure accuracy and timeliness\n Equipment uptime and reliability (%)\n Safety and compliance audit outcomes\n Number of repeat breakdowns\n Skills, Experience & Education\nEducation\n Minimum: N6 Certificate with Trade Test as a Millwright\n Preferred: N6 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Millwright Trade Certificate\n Experience\n 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment\n Experience in both electrical and mechanical systems preferred (especially in bottling or packaging)\n Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and SHEQ standards in a plant environment\n Previous work in a CMMS environment advantageous\n Skills\n Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills\n Sound knowledge of gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, motors, and sensors\n Basic understanding of PLC interfaces and industrial automation systems\n Proficient in use of tools and diagnostic equipment\n Ability to read technical drawings, wiring schematics, and instruction manuals\n Skilled in root cause analysis and use of basic CI tools\n SAP PM usage for job execution and feedback\n Knowledge of SHEQ, GMP, and safe maintenance practices\n Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills\n General\nOnly applications with the below documents attached will be considered:\n Updated CV\n Highest qualification\n Trade Certificate\n Internal Applicates with no signed Internal Application Forms attached will not be considered.\n\nThe advert has minimum requirements listed.
