We are well established across multiple markets such as military and defence, uncrewed vehicles such as drones, police and government, and broadcast technology.\nWhat will you be doing?\nThe Production Planner is responsible for managing the business’ ability to procure, manufacture and deliver products during all stages of the lifecycle: development, maturity, and withdrawal.\nThey also undertake the planning and scheduling of internal manufacturing operations in accordance with customer requirements, the needs of the business, availability of material and production capacity.\nThe role includes responsibility for inventory planning and inventory forecasting through modelling, configuring the business planning tool in accordance with the defined strategy for products, component parts and for generating production capacity data, ensuring that any over or under capacity forecasts are highlighted and resolved.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDelivering the business’ Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process\nRespond appropriately and resolve MRP messages\nSchedule new requirements in Production, dependent on the availability of material and capacity\nPrepare and handover a clear plan to the leaders and members of the Operations Management team. Overseeing adherence to the plan, maximising Customer-On-Time-To-Promise\nUpdating and maintaining accurate ERP data to facilitate effective use of the system throughout the business\nManage the transition of products through product development, core, extended range, and withdrawal phases of the lifecycle as relevant to ERP, demand planning, and SIOP\nUnderstand and manage inventory commitments in the supply chain and stocking levels as they relate to products and demand\nReview demand by geographic region or other categorisation to provide support to stakeholders and enable alignment with business strategies\nCollaborate with the Senior Planner, Sales, Business unit Leaders and Operations Management in the development of a consensus on demand forecast and a balanced production plan.\nEnsure effective monthly demand plan is in place to identify and resolve significant and/or critical supply-demand imbalances\nKey skills / experience\n3 or more years’ experience is desirable in a planning or similar role.\nDemonstrable planning skills and experience\nDemonstrable data analysing skills\nDemonstrable experience of project management\nAbility to assess documents to identify customer requirements and transpose the requirements into a production schedule\nDemonstrable history of improving performance against challenging targets\nGood people skills and a good communicator, intercompany communication is a must.\nFully conversant with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Outlook).\nMust be flexible and accommodating to last minute changes to support business and customer needs.\nExperience of MS Dynamics or of a similar ERP/MRP system is essential\nExperience of MS Office applications including advanced level PowerPoint skills to create detailed presentations, and advanced level Excel skills\nGood numeracy skills & good written & verbal communications skills\nUnderstanding of software tools required for their discipline including DAX or a similar ERP/MRP system and Salesforce\nAdditional details:\nThis is a full-time office-based position and will require the successful candidate to meet the criteria for UK Security Clearance.\nBenefits and Culture\nOur culture is supportive and collaborative.
