Our products are used across defence, uncrewed systems, government, and broadcast markets.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of advanced wireless communication systems.\nThis is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of complex electronic designs, contribute to product architecture, and provide technical leadership across a range of cutting-edge projects.\nWorking closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and requirements capture through to design, verification, production, and customer support.\nYou will:\nArchitect and design high-speed digital, analogue, and mixed-signal electronic systems\nDevelop schematic designs, PCB layouts, and design verification plans\nLead technical design reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers\nSupport the delivery of customer-funded development projects alongside Project Managers and wider business teams\nContribute to new product architectures, concept development, simulation, and prototyping\nCollaborate closely with software, FPGA, RF, systems, and project teams\nSupport manufacturing teams with product introduction, testing, and production documentation\nProvide technical support for customer demonstrations, bids, and proposals\nResearch emerging technologies and contribute to future product and technology roadmaps\nWhat We're Looking For\nEssential:\nStrong experience designing complex digital, analogue, and mixed-signal electronic systems\nExperience designing high-speed multilayer PCBs using industry-standard ECAD tools such as Altium, PADS, or Xpedition\nExperience with high-speed digital interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, SATA, PCIe, HDMI, or DDR memory systems\nExperience designing CPU and FPGA-based systems\nStrong understanding of switched-mode power supplies, low-noise power design, and design for EMC compliance\nHands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, validation, and fault finding\nExperience using high-speed oscilloscopes, protocol analysers, and other electronic test equipment\nStrong understanding of design for manufacture and design for test principles\nDegree qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline\nDesirable:\nExperience designing with FPGAs\nKnowledge of RF systems and wireless communications\nExperience with thermal management and low-power electronic design\nExperience of cable and wiring loom design\nExposure to Python, C, or VHDL for hardware validation activities\nKnowledge of EMC, ESD, and regulatory compliance testing\nExperience working within defence, telecommunications, broadcast, or other high-reliability industries\nWhy Join DTC\nWork on cutting-edge technology at the limits of what’s possible\nOwn your work from design through to delivery\nBe part of a highly skilled, collaborative engineering team\nFlexible working, competitive salary, and strong benefits package\nOngoing training and development, including exposure to new technologies\nSuccessful applicants will need to be eligible for Security Clearance.\nInterested in a career with DTC?
