In this role, you will work at the intersection of theory and practice, applying, implementing, and integrating testing and verification tools into Code Metal products.\nYou will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to embed formal methods techniques into Code Metal workflows, driving innovation at the intersection of formal methods and artificial intelligence research.\nResponsibilities\nWork closely with the research team to translate formal methods research into implemented solutions and integrate them into production-ready Code Metal products.\n\nApply and adapt tools and frameworks to make formal verification accessible to practicing engineers.\n\nConduct experiments to evaluate the applicability and effectiveness of formal methods on industrial-scale codebases.\n\nCollaborate across multidisciplinary teams, contributing to both research initiatives and production-grade solutions.\n\nRequired Requirements\nAdvanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, with a focus on software engineering, formal methods, and programming languages.\n\nStrong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or Rust.\n\nDemonstrated proficiency in core software development practices, including: version control, code review, testing, continuous integration, build systems, and release pipelines.\n\nCombination of strong software engineering skills with a solid background in formal methods to build robust and maintainable systems.\n\nFamiliarity with interactive and automated theorem provers (e.g., PVS, Coq, Lean, SMT solvers), static analyzers (e.g., Frama-C, Infer, Polyspace), and property-based testing libraries (e.g., QuickCheck, Hypothesis) is a strong plus.\n\nExpertise in one or more of the following areas: theorem proving, SMT solving, program synthesis, and static analysis.\n\nAbility to translate technical research into practical engineering solutions.\n\nExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.\n\nEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance\n\nPreferred Requirements\nExperience integrating formal methods into CI/CD pipelines or software development workflows.\n\nContributions to open-source formal methods tools.\n\nExperience working in high-assurance industries (e.g., aerospace, medical devices, automotive).\n\nActive U.S. security clearance (Secret or Top-Secret)\n\nBenefits\nPay depends on experience, but we strive to be at the upper end of the salary range\n\nHealth care plan with 100% premium coverage, including medical, dental, and vision\n\n401k with 5% matching\n\nPaid Time Off (uncapped vacation, plus sick and public holidays)\n\nFlexible hybrid or remote work arrangement\n\nRelocation assistance for qualifying employees\n\nWage Transparency - The salary range for this role is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, individual proficiency, skills, experience, and location.\nWe are an equal opportunity employer.
