As AI writes more of the world's code, the bottleneck in software has shifted from writing code to verifying it works, and AI cannot verify its own work with certainty. Code Metal takes a fundamentally different approach: constrain AI to what it does reliably, verify every step independently of the model using formal methods, and keep engineers in the loop on the decisions that matter. The result isn't code that probably works - it's code that is provably correct, with auditable proof. Customers including the U.S. Air Force, L3Harris, RTX, and Toshiba use Code Metal to modernize legacy code, optimize performance on real hardware, and move prototypes to production, fast. Founded in 2023 with offices in Boston and San Francisco, Code Metal is funded by Accel, Salesforce Ventures, B Capital, Smith Point Capital, J2 Ventures, Shield Capital, Overmatch, RTX, and others. \nLearn more at codemetal.ai.\nAbout the Role:\nWe're hiring a Senior Product Manager to own product strategy and execution for one of Code Metal's core outcome areas. You will be helping customers in high-stakes environments translate, modernize, prototype, or port code across languages, standards, and hardware targets. You'll work closely with customers, engineers, and solutions engineering to turn deep technical capability into products that solve real problems across industries like automotive, aerospace, semiconductors, defense, and more.\nCode Metal's code transformation scenarios span a range of language domains. They include C++, Rust, Python, CUDA, and MATLAB, among others; and new scenarios continue to emerge as the platform grows. You won't own all of them. Your specific charter will cover a subset, matched to your background and interests during the interview process, with room to expand into adjacent scenarios over time.\nThis is a growth role. You'll start with a focused charter with a defined subset of pipelines and customer scenarios, and expand scope as you build technical depth and organizational credibility. Success means balancing customer pain, technical constraint, and business priority to define what to build, why, and when.\nThis is a highly collaborative role where Product, Engineering, UX, and Growth operate as peers throughout discovery, planning, and execution.\nCore Responsibilities:\nOwn the roadmap for your outcome area end-to-end, from discovery through delivery and iteration, translating customer pain into prioritized product decisions\n\nConduct customer discovery with technical stakeholders: engineers, architects, tech leads, and solutions engineering\n\nQuickly ramp into unfamiliar technical domains (language semantics, toolchains, hardware constraints) and synthesize what you learn into clear product direction\n\nWork side-by-side with Engineering to understand technical tradeoffs, shape implementation approaches, and make informed prioritization decisions throughout development\n\nBuild and maintain a smaller roadmap that feeds into the broader platform roadmap\n\nWrite clear PRDs that turn ambiguity into a specific plan\n\nMake thoughtful tradeoffs between customer value, technical complexity, and speed, and prioritize ruthlessly\n\nRepresent your outcome area in cross-functional and customer-facing conversations, communicating decisions and rationale to technical and non-technical audiences alike\n\nGrow your charter over time - starting with a defined subset of pipelines/scenarios and expanding into adjacent ones as you demonstrate depth\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nExperience owning software products from discovery through launch in a technical B2B, enterprise, or platform environment\n\n5+ years of Product Management experience building technical software products\n\nDemonstrated ability to rapidly learn new industries, technologies, and customer domains without requiring deep prior subject-matter expertise\n\nStrong customer discovery and user research skills, with experience translating insights into roadmap decisions\n\nComfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where priorities evolve as new information emerges\n\nComfortable engaging with technical concepts such as language semantics, toolchains, or hardware constraints\n\nDemonstrated MVP thinking: the ability to scope the smallest valuable slice of a problem rather than defaulting to the full solution\n\nSelf-awareness about the edges of your own expertise, and a track record of learning new technical domains quickly\n\nOutstanding written and verbal communication skills across executive, technical, and customer audiences\n\nMust be able to pass a standard background check\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience building developer tools, platform products, compilers, embedded systems, or other technically sophisticated products where the customer is often another engineer or technical team\n\nExperience working directly with highly technical customers, engineers, and domain experts\n\nPrior exposure to automotive, kernel development, aerospace, semiconductor, or regulated/safety-critical industries\n\nExperience bringing new products from concept through launch in early-stage or high-growth environments\n\nBenefits\nPay depends on experience, but we strive to be at the upper end of the salary range\n\nHealth care plan with 100% premium coverage, including medical, dental, and vision\n\n401k with 5% matching\n\nPaid Time Off (uncapped vacation, plus sick and public holidays)\n\nFlexible hybrid or remote work arrangement\n\nRelocation assistance for qualifying employees\n\nWage Transparency - The salary range for this role is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, individual proficiency, skills, experience, and location.\nWe are an equal opportunity employer. US Citizenship may be required for certain project assignments involving security clearance.\nPursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6082,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["401k plan","Relocation assistance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"},{"name":"Boston","iso":null,"kind":"city"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":["Embedded Software & RTOS","Code Intelligence","AI Development Tools"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-28T19:52:51Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":50,"reasons":["conf:2","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/code-metal-senior-product-manager-code-translation-developer-tooling","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/code-metal-senior-product-manager-code-translation-developer-tooling.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T11:24:38Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3067,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":1933,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
